The ATS D5 was a Formula One racing car manufactured and raced by the Team ATS racing team during the 1981 and 1982 Formula One seasons. Originally known as the HGS1 in 1981, it was updated for 1982 and designated the D5. It was powered by the Ford-Cosworth DFV V8. The team scored five points with the chassis across the two seasons it was raced.

Il suo esordio avvenne nel Gran Premio del Belgio 1981, ma al suo volante, Slim Borgudd non riuscì a qualificarsi per la gara. Inizialmente la vettura era equipaggiata con pneumatici Michelin. Successivamente vennero montati più performanti coperture Avon che permisero al pilota svedese di giungere sesto nel Gran Premio di Gran Bretagna. Nel 1982 si passò a coperture Goodyear e la D5 conquistò due quinti posti con Winkelhock in Brasile e Eliseo Salazar a Imola. Winkelhock fu anche capace di partire dal quinto posto al Gran Premio degli Stati Uniti Est.
