The American-Cassinese Congregation is a Catholic association of Benedictine monasteries founded in 1855. The monasteries of the congregation follow the monastic way of life as outlined by St. Benedict of Nursia in his early 6th century Rule of Saint Benedict. The congregation is one of 19 congregations in the Benedictine Confederation and includes 25 monasteries: 19 autonomous abbeys and 6 dependent priories, located across 15 states and Puerto Rico, as well as Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, and Taiwan. Elle a été érigée le 24 août 1855 par la lettre apostolique Inter ceteras de Pie IX sous le patronage des saints anges gardiens. Elle comprend vingt maisons (abbayes et prieurés) indépendantes et huit prieurés dépendants, essentiellement aux États-Unis, mais aussi au Canada, au Brésil, en Colombie, à Porto Rico, à Taïwan et au Japon. Son archi-abbaye est l'abbaye Saint-Vincent de Latrobe, la communauté bénédictine la plus grande du monde (170 moines). La congrégation comprenait 868 moines en 2007. Elle est dirigée par l'abbé-général, le T.R.P. Timothy Kelly, osb, de l'abbaye de Collegeville.
