Η Αγκύλη ή Αγκυλή ή Ανκυλή (αρχαία ελληνικά: Ἀγκύλη ή Ἀγκυλή ή Ἀνκυλή), (ο δήμος: Αγκύλης ή Αγκυλής ή Ανκυλής) ήταν το όνομα, αρχαίων οικισμών - πόλεων και δήμων της Αιγηίδας (περιοχή της Αρχαίας Αττικής και φυλή της αρχαίας Αθήνας), που ήταν διαμοιρασμένη σε δύο κυρίως οικισμούς, με δύο αντίστοιχους δήμους του άστεως, με ονομασίες αντίστοιχα, “Καθύπερθεν Αγκύλη” (Άνω Αγκύλη) και “Υπένερθεν Αγκύλη” (Κάτω Αγκύλη).

Upper Ancyle passed from the phyle Aigeis to in 307/306 BCE; Lower Ancyle remained in the Aigeis phyle. In the 3rd century, in Roman times, the demoi were home to rich landed properties. Their name derives from the Greek name for "javelin" (which was thrown with a rope). The same root also appears in an epithet attributed to Cronus and to Prometheus, "of sharp wits". Nel III secolo, in età romana, i demi erano sede di ricche proprietà terriere. Il loro nome deriva da "laccio", quindi anche "giavellotto" (che si lanciava con una corda).
