Don’t Forget the Lyrics! ist eine US-amerikanische Karaoke-Quizshow. Sie wurde von Mitte 2007 bis 2009 für den Sender Fox produziert. Mittlerweile ist sie schon in Länder wie Großbritannien, Frankreich und Österreich exportiert worden. Ein ähnliches Format fand sich in der NBC-Sendung Singing Bee(Singende Biene), die nach ähnlichem Konzept verläuft. (de) Don't Forget the Lyrics! is an international game show in the United States. The American show originally aired on Fox from July 11, 2007, to June 19, 2009, and after a year off the air, a third overall season, and first as a syndicated show, began on June 15, 2010, in daytime syndication and in primetime on VH1 and in primetime on MyNetworkTV on October 5, 2010. On March 24, 2011, the show was canceled. A new primetime version, hosted by Niecy Nash, debuted on FOX on May 23, 2022. The show has spun off to numerous countries outside America using different top prize or game format. The primary difference between Don't Forget the Lyrics! and other music-based game shows is that artistic talent (such as the ability to sing or dance in an aesthetically pleasing way) is irrelevant to the contestants' chances of winning. In the words of one of their commercials prior to the first airing, "You don't have to sing it well; you just have to sing it right". Il programma è stato trasmesso anche in Italia su Sky Italia, sul Canale 109 SKY Uno e sul canale 116 SkyUno+1 (un'ora dopo). Lo scopo del gioco è raggiungere, con lo stile a vari step o livelli tipo Chi vuol essere milionario?, un montepremi di 1.000.000 di dollari, indovinando parole mancanti di canzoni più o meno famose che il concorrente deve anche cantare dall'inizio, leggendo il testo su un display fino al punto che quest'ultimo s'interrompe, e gli tocca completare la frase. Anche in questo caso c'è la possibilità di scegliersi 3 "aiuti".
