Gruene (/ˈɡriːn/ green) is a German-Texan town in Comal County in the U.S. state of Texas. Once a significant cotton-producing community along the Guadalupe River, the town has now shifted its economy to one supported primarily by tourism. Gruene, a German surname, (pronounced "Green") is now a district within the city limits of New Braunfels, and much of it was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on April 21, 1975. The city is known for its German-Texan heritage and architecture and many residents of Gruene and New Braunfels are descendants of the first German settlers.

Jahrhundert gab es in Gruene eine Bank, eine Post, eine Schule, eine Tanzhalle für die örtlichen Arbeitskräfte, eine Schrotmühle sowie eine Baumwoll-Entkörnungsmaschine. Zwei Schienenstränge erleichterten das Verladen der Baumwolle. Die 1878 durch Heinrich D. Gruene erbaute Tanzhalle ist nach Angaben der Besitzer bis zum heutigen Tag durchgehend in Betrieb und man bezeichnet sie als die „älteste noch genutzte Tanzhalle in Texas“. Auftritte von Willie Nelson, George Strait, Townes Van Zandt, Jerry Jeff Walker, Lyle Lovett, Hal Ketchum, Greg Allman, und vieler anderer machten die Gruene Hall legendär. 1996 war sie Schauplatz in dem Film Michael mit John Travolta. Im Jahr 2019 führte ZZ Top Interviews und spielte Live-Musik so u. a. das Lied La Grange sowie einige Ausschnitte der Dokumentation "That Little ol' Band from Texas" in der berühmten Tanzhalle.
