The Hebei University of Technology (HEBUT; Chinese: 河北工业大学; lit. 'Hebei Industrial University') is a provincial public university in Tianjin, China. HEBUT is sponsored by Hebei Provincial People's Government, Tianjin Municipal People's Government and the Ministry of Education of China, which specializes in engineering studies and combines multiple academic areas including technology, science, economics, management and arts. HEBUT is first engineering-based university to launch MBA program in China, and only university in Tianjin province that offers EMBA. HEBUT is a member of the “Double First Class University Plan” and former “211-Project.” It is also a Double First Class University. HEBUT has around 30,500 students and around 1,920 academic staffs. 河北工业大学（英語：Hebei University of Technology，缩写：HEBUT），前身是1962年河北工学院与原天津工学院合并组建的新的天津工学院。其中，学缘历史最悠久的河北工学院，肇始于1902年冬季袁世凯在天津任直隶总督期间推行新政、采纳周学熙建议，委令天津知府凌福彭筹建的工艺学堂，即1903年在天津老城东南角貢院东草厂庵为堂址成立的北洋工艺学堂。 1908年7月，学校迁入河北新区黄纬路校区。几经更名与扩建之后，1929年5月，学校奉令升格为学院，定名为河北省立工业学院。抗日战争时期，河北工学院曾停办八年，战争结束后在天津原址复校。1951年8月，河北工学院与北洋大学合并，定名天津大学，河北工学院则终止办学。 1958年7月，天津大学、南开大学的支援下，选址天津市河北区元纬路旧址建立了新的河北工学院在以及天津机电学院、天津建筑工程学院、天津化工学院。1962年，河北工学院并入了前一年由天津机电学院、天津建筑工程学院、天津化工学院组建的天津工学院。1971年，天津工学院更名为河北工学院，1995年升格为河北工业大学。1996年，河北工业大学成为国家“211工程”重点建设高校。2016年，河北工业大学入选河北省一流大学建设高校。2017年9月，河北工业大学入选国家一流学科建设高校、天津市高水平特色大学和一流学科建设高校序列，已经发展成为一所以工为主、多学科协调发展的高校。河北工业大学的校训是“勤慎公忠”，办学特色为“工学并举”，大学章程确定法定住所地址为天津市北辰区西平道5340号，是河北省人民政府举办、天津市人民政府和教育部共建的公立高校，设有北辰校区、红桥校区和廊坊校区。 (zh)
