The Jheri curl (often spelled Jerry curl or Jeri Curl) is a permanent wave hairstyle that was popular among African Americans during the 1980s and early 1990s. Invented by the hairdresser Jheri Redding, the Jheri curl gives the wearer a glossy, loosely curled look. It was touted as a "wash and wear" style that was easier to care for than the other popular chemical treatment of the day, the relaxer.

La technique de coiffure s'opère en deux phases : * La première consiste en un relâchement des bouclettes des cheveux frisés. * La deuxième consiste à permanenter les boucles sur des bigoudis à l'aide d'une solution chimique. Un produit activateur de boucles est à poser quotidiennement sur les cheveux. Dans le film Pulp Fiction de Quentin Tarantino, l'acteur américain Samuel L. Jackson (dans le rôle du personnage de Jules Winnfield) portait les cheveux en Jheri curl. Il s'agissait d'une perruque bouclée façon Jheri. (fr) Jheri curl är en krullig frisyr som ser våt ut.
