Mabool: The Story of the Three Sons of Seven is the third full-length studio album by the Israeli metal band Orphaned Land. It was released on February 23, 2004 through Century Media Records. There are two different versions of the album; in a CD version and an LP with different cover art for each. The album is also available as a limited edition version with a bonus live acoustic CD titled The Calm Before the Flood. It was also released on vinyl by Profound Lore Records as a 2-LP album in a clear wax case limited to only 500 copies. The album also features two videos that were made for "Ocean Land" and "Norra el Norra" their first videos. The album was made in a highly arranged fashion and took six years to be arranged, composed and produced and is therefore the main reason for the long wait between albums. (en)

Mabool è il terzo album degli israeliani Orphaned Land pubblicato nel 2004. Mescola sonorità tipicamente mediorientali a un suond Death Metal a tratti aggressivo e a tratti notevolmente melodico. Un cd che affonda le sue radici nella cultura e nella tradizione di israele e dintorni, molto ispirato ed evocativo. Il concept alla base dell'album è la storia dei tre figli del Settimo (Dio, nella numerologia classica). Ciascuno dei tre angeli figli ricevette un potere e un simbolo: La Stella di Davide e la magia, la Mezzaluna e la forza, la Croce e la saggezza.Dio proibì ai suoi tre figli di riunirsi, per timore della loro potenza. Gli angeli ignorarono l'ordine e si fusero in un unico angelo, che Dio separò nuovamente. Esiliati sulla Terra, i tre furono condannati a combattere tra loro, fin quando non avessero provato di aver compreso i loro errori. Gli angeli a un certo punto provarono ad avvertire l'umanità dell'imminente Diluvio Universale, ma non riuscirono a salvarla tutta. (it)

Wydawnictwo ukazało się 23 lutego 2004 roku nakładem wytwórni muzycznej Century Media Records w dwóch wersjach z różną oprawa graficzną. Limitowana wersja albumu zawiera ponadto dodatek zatytułowany The Calm Before the Flood. Mabool ukazał się również na dwóch płytach winylowych nakładem wytwórni w limitowanym do 500 egzemplarzy nakładzie. W ramach promocji do utworów „Ocean Land” oraz „Norra el Norra” zostały zrealizowane teledyski, udostępnione na oficjalnej stronie internetowej zespołu. (pl)
