Madhyapur Thimi (Nepali मध्यपुर थिमि) ist eine Stadt (Munizipalität) im Kathmandutal in Nepal und gehört zum Ballungsraum Kathmandu. Die Stadt liegt im Distrikt Bhaktapur und grenzt im Westen an Kathmandu und im Osten an die Stadt Bhaktapur. Von Kathmandu ist das Stadtgebiet lediglich durch den internationalen Flughafen getrennt. Madhyapur Thimi, also known as Thimi, (Nepali: मध्यपुर थिमि) is a municipality in Bhaktapur District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. Thimi lies between Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur in the Kathmandu Valley. It is one of the ancient cultural and historical places along the trade route from Bhaktapur to Kathmandu. The city is situated on elevated land and occupies an area of 11.47 square kilometres (4.43 sq mi), divided into nine administrative wards. The mayor as of 2017 was Madan Sundar Shrestha of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) of Nepal. (en)
Thimi (również Madhyapur Thimi, nep. मध्यपुर थिमि) – miasto leżące w środkowym Nepalu, w dystrykcie Bhaktapur, na wysokości 1325 m, 10 km na wschód od Katmandu i 3 km na zachód od Bhaktapur. Do 670 roku miasto było znane tylko jako Madhyapur. Według danych szacunkowych na rok 2010 liczy 66 600 mieszkańców. Thimi w języku newarskim znaczy uzdolnieni mieszkańcy, gdyż wielu z nich zajmuje się rzemiosłem artystycznym (wytwarzają gliniane naczynia, papierowe maski, kukiełki i lalki, tradycyjnie tkane tekstylia i inne rękodzieła).
