Das Kraftwerk Moneypoint (englisch Moneypoint Power Station, irisch Stáisiúin Chumhachta Ghob na Muine) ist ein Kohlekraftwerk im County Clare, Irland, das am Mündungsarm des Shannon ca. 8 km östlich der Stadt Kilrush gelegen ist. Das Kraftwerk ging 1985 in Betrieb. Es ist im Besitz des (ESB) und wird auch von ESB betrieben.

Commissioned between 1985 and 1987, it is located on the River Shannon near Kilrush, County Clare. It was constructed at a cost of more than £700m in one of the largest capital projects in the history of the state. The station operates largely on coal, making it both unique in the context of Irish electricity production and the country's single largest emitter of greenhouse gases. It is capable of meeting around 25% of customer demand across the country. It has two Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) storage tanks with a capacity of 50,000 tonnes which can be used as a back-up fuel if required. Three Brown Boveri four-cylinder, single-shaft impulse reaction turbines are directly connected to three generators which generate the power. The steam is generated by three Foster Wheeler two-pass boilers, which convert water into high pressure steam by combustion of the coal. The power station chimneys, at 218m, are the tallest free-standing structures in Ireland. Elle comprend trois unités de 285 MW net (305 MW brut) chacune, et été construite au milieu des années 1980. La centrale produit 7 TWh par an, sur les 25 que consomme le pays. La centrale consomme environ 2 millions de tonnes de charbon par an, ce qui représente une majorité de la consommation de charbon du pays, ce charbon est pour l'essentiel importé de Colombie. En 2008 la centrale a subi une grosse rénovation qui a permis de réduire les émissions de SO2 et de NOx. Om logistieke redenen ligt de centrale aan de Shannon en heeft daar aan diep water haar eigen kolenoverslagterminal. De bouw van de centrale kostte 700 miljoen Ierse ponden (ongeveer 1 miljard euro) en is daarmee een van de duurste projecten in de Ierse historie. De centrale levert ongeveer 25% van de Ierse elektriciteitsbehoefte maar is als kolengestookte centrale ook de grootste leverancier van broeikasgassen in Ierland. Er loopt dan ook een kostbaar environmental retrofit project om deze uitstoot met zo'n 90% terug te brengen maar meer is nog nodig. De schoorstenen van Moneypoint zijn met hun 218 meter de hoogste vrijstaande constructies in Ierland De centrale bij Moneypoint werd gebouwd in de periode 1979 tot 1987. Voor de ingebruikname van de centrale was Ierland sterk afhankelijk van geïmporteerde olie voor het opwekken van energie. In de jaren zeventig was er een sterke stijging van de olieprijzen, wat er toe leidde dat de regering en de kozen voor een andere brandstof.
