Die Burg Pazin [Pasin] (kroatisch Kaštel Pazin, italienisch Castello di Montecuccoli, deutsch Burg Mitterburg) ist eine mittelalterliche Burg innerhalb der Stadt Pazin im Zentral-Istrien, Westkroatien. (de) The Pazin Castle (Croatian: Kaštel Pazin Italian: Castello di Pisino, german: Mitterburg) is a medieval fortification built on a solid rock situated in the middle of the town of Pazin, the administrative seat of Istria County, Croatia. It is the largest and best-preserved castle in that westernmost Croatian county. It overlooks the deep gorge of the Foiba river, a small karst subterranean river that disappears there through sinkhole and continues underground. The fortified structure was constructed of hewn stone, and, during its 11-century-long history, subjected to several major reconstructions and renovations. There are two museums to be visited in Pazin's castle, the Ethnographic Museum of Istria and the Pazin Town Museum. Deve il nome alla famiglia del conte Antonio Laderchi marchese di Montecuccoli che lo possedette dal 1766 al 1848. Era imparentata con il ramo modenese dei Montecuccoli il cui esponente più celebre fu il condottiero Raimondo Montecuccoli. È il maniero meglio conservato e panoramico della regione istriana: dal "Belvedere", ai piedi della rocca, è possibile ammirare l'orrido della Foiba, che precipita in ambiente ipogeo. Il castello presenta una forma poligonale irregolare, con un cortile centrale (la piazza d'armi), che ospita una cisterna, e una facciata che presenta una stratificazione architettonica di elementi romanici, gotici e rinascimentali. Sulla facciata principale si notano cinque stemmi, di cui due di origine incerta (forse riconducibili ai Rab, agli Schül o agli Steindorfer), uno dei Duinati, uno dei Walsee e uno dei De Pisino, del ramo di Chersano.
