Anastasiopolis-Peritheorion is an archaeological site located in northern Greece, southeast of the village of Amaxades in the Rhodope regional unit in Western Thrace. Parts of the fortification walls of the ancient city of Anastasiopolis (5th – 9th centuries) and Peritheorion (9th century) are still visible. It is unclear whether these are two different cities or a single one that has been renamed in the meantime. The ancient city was an important port on the Aegean Sea and station on the Via Egnatia.

Αρχικά η πόλη ονομαζόταν Αναστασιούπολις και στη συνέχεια πήρε το όνομα Περιθεώριον , ενώ υπάρχει και η θεωρία ότι είναι δύο πόλεις ξεχωριστές . Σήμερα σώζονται ερείπια των τειχών τα οποία έχουν κάτοψη ακανόνιστου τραπεζίου με την μεγαλύτερη πλευρά νοτίως. Σώζονται επίσης πύργοι κυκλικοί και τετράγωνοι (τέσσερις στην βόρεια και νότια πλευρά και δύο στην δυτική και ένα στην ανατολική πλευρά). Στην νότια πλευρά, στην κύρια τοξωτή πύλη που οδηγεί στο λιμάνι, σώζονται μονογράμματα των Παλαιολόγων (περιόδου 1341). Heute sieht man noch Teile der Befestigungsmauern der antiken Stadt Anastasioupolis (5.–9. Jahrhundert) und Peritheorion (9. Jahrhundert). Ob es sich dabei um zwei verschiedene Städte handelt oder um eine einzige, die zwischenzeitig umbenannt wurde, ist unklar. Die antike Stadt war ein wichtiger Hafen der Ägäis.
