Pollenzo (Piemontesisch: Polens) ist ein Dorf im Piemont und Ortsteil von Bra in der Provinz Cuneo. Es liegt vier Kilometer östlich von Bra und 13 km westlich von Alba am Tanaro nahe der Mündung des Stura di Demonte.

Era una ciutat de Ligúria al peu de la part nord dels Alps, prop de la unió dels rius Stura i Tanaro a uns 10 km d'Alba Pompeia. Probablement pertanyia al poble lígur dels estatiels (statielli). Al segle I aC apareix ja com una ciutat de certa importància. Marc Antoni el 43 aC després de ser derrotat a Mutina es va retirar cap a Vada Sabata, però forçat a recular, es va presentar a Pollentia que volia ocupar però ja estava en mans de Decimus Brutus amb cinc cohorts. Durant l'Imperi Plini el Vell l'esmenta com nobilia oppida. Sota Tiberi era municipi i fou castigada per aquest emperador per uns disturbis que havien passat al fòrum. Fou escenari d'una gran batalla entre Estilicó i els gots d'Alaric I el 403 aC de resultat incert; encara que Cassiodorus i Jordannes la presenten com a victòria goda, altres autors la presenten com a dubtosa o fins i tot com a victòria romana; el cert és que Alaric es va retirar. Va entrar en decadència i va esdevenir un llogaret conservat en la moderna Pollenzo. Queden restes del teatre, amfiteatre, un temple i alguns edificis. És propera a la moderna (a uns 3 km). It is now a frazione (parish) of Bra in the Province of Cuneo, Piedmont, northern Italy. In antiquity Pollentia belonged to the Ligurian Statielli, Augusta Bagiennorum (modern Roncaglia in the Comune of Bene Vagienna) being 16 km to the south. Its position on the road from Augusta Taurinorum (modern Turin) to the coast at Vada Sabatia (modern Vado Ligure, near Savona), at the point of divergence of a road to Hasta (modern Asti), gave it military importance. Decimus Brutus managed to occupy it an hour before Mark Antony in 43 BC. Here Stilicho on April 6, 402, fought the Battle of Pollentia with Alaric I, which though undecided led the Goths to evacuate Italy. The place was famous for its brown wool and pottery. Today it is home to the University of Gastronomic Sciences which offers undergraduate, graduate and masters programs focused on gastronomy and food tourism. According to the 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica considerable remains of ancient buildings, including an amphitheater, a theater and a temple were still in existence, although the so-called temple of Diana was more probably a tomb.
