Sergueï Afanassievitch Zimov (en russe : Сергей Афанасьевич Зимов) est un scientifique russe, géophysicien spécialisé en géochimie et écologie arctique et subarctique. Il dirige la « station scientifique du Nord-Est », un institut de recherche de l'Académie des sciences de Russie, chercheur principal de l' (ru), un institut de la Division Extrême-Orient de l'Académie des sciences de Russie (FED RAS), et est l'un des fondateurs du parc du Pléistocène (une réserve de 160 km2 associée à la station scientifique du Nord-Est, dédiée à la préservation et à la recherche sur la faune subarctique de la toundra).

He is best known for his work in advocating the theory that human overhunting of large herbivores during the Pleistocene caused Siberia's grassland-steppe ecosystem to disappear and for raising awareness as to the important roles permafrost and thermokarst lakes play in the global carbon cycle.
