Splatter (anglicky splatter – cákanec) je druh hororu (hororové komedie), který se zaměřuje na naturalistické, někdy až přehnané zobrazení násilí. Typické je velké množství krve. Výraz poprvé použil režisér George Romero k popisu svého filmu Dawn of the Dead (česky Úsvit mrtvých) z roku 1978. Známé jsou také až extrémní hororové komedie označované pojmem splatter režiséra Petera Jacksona, a to Bad Taste (Vesmírní kanibalové, 1987) nebo Braindead (Živí Mrtví, 1992), ve kterých se režisér přímo vyžívá v potocích krve. Dalo by se říci, že jde přímo o parodie na splattery.
