In Search of the Lost Chord est le troisième album studio des Moody Blues, sorti en 1968. C'est un album-concept basé sur la quête et la découverte ; l'exploration de notre monde (Dr Livingstone I presume), la musique et la philosophie à travers les âges (House of Four Doors), l'amour perdu (The Actor), le développement spirituel (Voices in the sky), la connaissance dans un monde en perpétuel changement (Ride my see-saw), une conscience plus élevée (Legend of a mind), l'imagination (The best way to travel), et l'exploration de l'espace (Departure). Według Mike'a Pindera tytuł płyty jest nawiązaniem do utworu „I'm the Guy who Found the Lost Chord” Jimmy'ego Durante, która z kolei nawiązuje do kompozycji „The Lost Chord” sir Arthura Sullivana. W Classic Special Edition „Pink Floyd & The Story of Prog Rock” magazynów Q i Mojo, album został umieszczony na 37 miejscu listy „40 Cosmic Rock Albums". (pl)
In Search of the Lost Chord är ett musikalbum av The Moody Blues. Albumet släpptes i juli 1968 på skivbolaget Deram Records, och spelades in januari-juni samma år. Efter att ha använt en stor symfoniorkester på föregående albumet Days of Future Passed, bestämde sig gruppmedlemmarna här för att spela alla instrument själva. Mike Pinder återskapade många instrument med hjälp av sin mellotron. Två låtar, "Voices in the Sky" och "Ride My See-Saw" släpptes som singlar. Låten "Legend of a Mind" handlade om LSD-profilen Timothy Leary. (sv)

Вторая пластинка The Moody Blues, записанная в классическом составе Хейворд—Пиндер—Лодж—Томас—Эдж, и вторая же работа группы с продюсером . На этой записи сформировалось фирменное звучание группы, построенное вокруг меллотрона. Альбом написан под влиянием ЛСД, трансцендентальной медитации и восточной музыки, в частности, музыки Хиндустани. Тематика песен альбома затрагивает такие темы, как духовное развитие человека, его стремление к поискам и открытиям. Две песни с пластинки, «Ride My See-Saw» и «Voices in the Sky», были также выпущены как синглы. После релиза In Search of the Lost Chord занял достаточно высокие позиции в чартах.
