UN/CEFACT（United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business、貿易簡易化と電子ビジネスのための国連センター）は、国際連合の下位機関であり、商取引や貿易の促進を目的として世界規模で活動している。国連欧州経済委員会(UNECE)によってホストされている。 勧告文書を作成する手続き(Open Development Process)を持っており、これに則って技術仕様の開発が行われている。国際標準化機構(ISO)等の標準化団体との間で覚書を取り交わしており、作成した標準は互いの機関で尊重し合うことになっている。 UN/CEFACTの活動の成果としては、電子データ交換(EDI)標準のや、ebXML（OASISと共同）、UN/CEFACT Modelling Methodologyなどが知られている。

Pour ce faire, UN/CEFACT a : * restructuré les différents groupes au sein du Forum de l'UN/CEFACT ; * adopté un nouveau processus pour la production des composants conformes à ebXML ; * développé une nouvelle méthode de travail : Open Development Process ; * défini une nouvelle architecture pour le commerce électronique donnant une vue logique de composants architecturaux abstraits en vue de faciliter l'échange des données, d'une part en XML (Extensible Markup Language). It was established as an intergovernmental body of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in 1996 and evolved from UNECE's long tradition of work in trade facilitation which began in 1957. UN/CEFACT's goal is "Simple, Transparent and Effective Processes for Global Commerce." It aims to help business, trade and administrative organizations from developed, developing and transition economies to exchange products and services effectively. To this end, it focuses on simplifying national and international transactions by harmonizing processes, procedures and information flows related to these transactions, rendering these more efficient and streamlined, with the ultimate goal of contributing to the growth of global commerce.
