Consiste en cuentos sobre varias deidades, seres, criaturas legendarias, héroes y cuentos populares de varios grupos étnicos. Some of these myths traveled across the Atlantic during the period of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade to become part of Caribbean, Cuban and Brazilian mythology. Written myths from West Africa were not established until the 1800s. Most myths were passed from one generation to another orally. These myths were told by storytellers and grandparents.
