It stated that "the government should not keep information confidential merely because public officials might be embarrassed by disclosure, because errors and failures might be revealed, or because of speculative or abstract fears." The Office of the Press Secretary is also responsible for writing statements for the current Press Secretary that are published on the White House website. An example of a statement was published by the Trump White House on October 19, 2018, about the United States Health Security National Action Plan (the Plan). It will help the "United States Government prepare for and respond to public health emergencies."
