William de Ferrers, 5. Earl of Derby (* um 1200; † 24. März 1254) war ein englischer Magnat. (de) William III de Ferrers, 5th Earl of Derby (c. 1193 – 28 March 1254) of Chartley Castle in Staffordshire, was an English nobleman and major landowner, unable through illness to take much part in national affairs. From his two marriages, he left numerous children who married into noble and royal families of England, France, Scotland and Wales. Nacque nel Derbyshire, Inghilterra, figlio di William de Ferrers, IV conte di Derby e di Agnese of Chester, figlia di Ugo di Kevelioc, conte di Chester a di Bertrada de Montfort. Dopo avere reso l'omaggio feudale a Enrico III d'Inghilterra, ebbe il castello di Chartley e altri territori dell'eredità materna. Accompagnò Enrico III in Francia nel 1230. Entrò nel parlamento di Londra nello stesso anno.Al pari del padre ebbe diversi free warrenn presso Belper, Milford, Windley, Holbrook, Heage, Hulland e altri ancora, tutti nella contea del Derbyshire.Guglielmo morì il 28 marzo 1254 solo sette anni dopo essere succeduto al padre, a lui successe il figlio Robert de Ferrers, VI conte di Derby e venne quindi sepolto nell'abbazia di , nel Warwickshire.
