NWS confirms 4th tornado; damage found near Chelsea (KTUL)

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) -- The National Weather Service has confirmed a fourth tornado after Sunday morning's storms.

On Monday evening, the NWS reported that a survey team found a tornado track six miles south of Chelsea. The twister was given a preliminary EF-1 rating.

According to the NWS, the tornado formed at 2:11 a.m. Damage includes large uprooted trees.

The Chelsea tornado followed three other tornadoes in Green Country early Sunday morning. The first formed at 1:19 a.m. near 36th and Harvard and continued southeast to 41st and Yale and dissipated around 51st Street just before reaching 145th East Avenue.

The EF-2 damaged or destroyed more than 100 businesses and dozens of homes, sending more than 30 victims to the hospital.

Two EF-1 tornadoes formed minutes later in Broken Arrow and Oologah, uprooting trees, snapping large limbs and causing barn and roof damage.
