"The contrasting lightness of the steel structures and the roof are used with visually heavier brick panels, a juxtaposition of elements that distinguishes this architect's work. The layered language of the facades and deep overhangs are very important for protection from the heat and excessive glare that can be experienced in this particular climate. Abdel Moneim Mustafa also designed other buildings at the University of Khartoum, in collaboration with the structural engineer Shawgi Saad.
