Newspaper Articles Newspaper Articles 29th December 1860, Page: 5, Column: 2 The Hetton Colliery Explosion Recovery Of Another Body Another body was on Wednesday brought to bank. It is that of Thomas Mitchieson, aged 61 years, who has left a widow and two children to mourn his loss. The workmen, in their explorations, have reached the face of a very large fall in the neighbourhood of which it is suspected that Walker, Lowden, and the other two lie buried ; and from the magnitude of the obstruction it is feared that some time may elapse before they can be extricated. The fire has now been all but extinguished ; and in one of the stables was found a little pony standing upright, although charred to a cinder.
