A serious fall occurred at No. 1 Pochin Colliery, Tredegar, on Monday, which resulted in the death of John Stokes, 31, collier, residing at 15, East-lane, Tredegar, and the narrow escape of William Hopkins, collier, residing at Bedwellty Pits, and who sustained serious injuries. Stokes only commenced to work in that particular stall on Monday.
