E!, style Acquire Sex and the City; Big Bang Theory Gets Two and a Half Men Slot On May 3, Wife Swap Not Airing Again

I'm back after a few days away, but Todd did a great job filling in!

Comcast-owned networks E! Entertainment and style have acquired the rights to all 94 episodes of Sex and the City starting in January 2011. Sex and the City of course aired on HBO for six seasons from 1998-2004 and has been airing on TBS in repeats since 2003. Currently on TBS it airs weeknights in the 1am hour, but they will be losing the rights to the show when E! and style's deal starts. The series is not needed on TBS anymore, especially since Conan O'Brien will start his talk show in the fall, giving Sex and the City the boot since one hour (or two since there will likely be an encore of the talk show) of late night will be removed because of his new talk show.
The Comcast deal let's it air on E! and style as well as limited digital, VOD and mobile rights starting in Jan. 2011. In a previously done deal, E! already has the rights to the first Sex and The City movie, which will debut on E! in July 2012.

We have some notable network notes for you. CBS is trying The Big Bang Theory in Two and a Half Men's 9pm half-hour on Monday, May 3 - the first Monday of May sweeps! This is really a forced thing, because Two and Half Men had its episode order cut by two (the Charlie Sheen rehab situation) and doesn't have enough new episodes left in May. As a result, CBS has announced it will air an all-new episode of The Big Bang Theory at 9pm on May 3, followed by a repeat in its regular 9:30pm half-hour. Two and a Half Men will return with its final three episodes of the season starting May 10 at 9pm, with the season finale airing on May 24.

Moving on to other network notes, as I predicted, once again ABC will preempt Wife Swap this Friday (April 16) for previous week's rerun of Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution at 8pm leading into an all-new episode. I suspect this will happen again next week (April 23), as Food Revolution will have its season finale next week. If that is the case, Wife Swap will return April 30 with back-to-back episodes, as previously scheduled. Then it should air weekly at 8pm, leading into Primetime: What Would You Do? at 9pm starting May 7.

TeenNick Books That '70s Show Marathon; Episode Cut for Two and a Half Men, While 'Til Death and Scrubs Canceled?

Get ready to go back to the '70s this weekend as TeenNick presents a 24-hour marathon of That '70s Show! The marathon starts Friday at 8pm and will run until 8pm Saturday. So come hang with the whole gang in the Forman Basement for 24 straight hours! The series of course regularly airs on TeenNick every night from 12-2am ET, as it has been doing for quite some time now.
That '70s Show revolves around the lives of several teens living in Wisconsin in 1976 including Eric Forman (Topher Grace), who lives under the authority of parents, the girl next door and girlfriend Donna Pinciotti (Laura Prepon), Fez (Wilmer Valderrama), a foreign-exchange student soaking up American culture, Jackie Burkhart (Mila Kunis), her on-again, off-again boyfriend Michael Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) and Steven Hyde (Danny Masterson), the conspiracy theorist of the group. The gang spends their time in Eric's basement, thinking of their lives, parents, and futures, but they manage to get into funny adventures and mishaps along the way through their teenage years.
Also in primetime all next week on TeenNick starting Sunday, March 28 at 8pm, get caught up on Degrassi everyday in primetime (8pm-12am) all-week long leading up to the Degrassi: Broken Promises premiere on Friday, April 2. The entire day on Friday, April 2 will be Degrassi starting at 6am.

Last month we mentioned because of Charlie Sheen dealing with "a personal matter," that production would be halted for a few weeks on his CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men. He recently came back to the set so production has resumed, but because of the delay, two episodes will be cut from this season's order going from 24 episodes to 22 episodes. It is unclear if CBS will still schedule the next new episode (episode 19) scheduled for April 12, since they will likely have to save the remaining four episodes (eps 19-22) of the season for May sweeps. The other CBS Monday comedies have more than a 22 episode order (How I Met Your Mother has 24 and The Big Bang Theory has 23) so they can air one or two times in April with no problem. I guess stay tuned!

Meanwhile, it looks like the end of the road for Fox's 'Til Death after four seasons. The series star Brad Garrett announced the news. The series hasn't really aired in a normal timeslot since season two when it was pulled from the schedule after November 2007. It has been brought back to be burned-off in a bulk load since (you know it is bad when they air four new episodes on Christmas Day). A few unaired season two episodes ended up airing in season three and at least fifteen unaired episodes from season three have been airing this season (the fourth season). And the fourth season has a full 22 episode order, too, so Fox is double-pumping these episodes and the unaired season three episodes to quickly get through them.
Back in Jan. 2009, Fox surprisingly announced it had renewed the series for a fourth season despite pulling the series from the schedule with many episodes left in the third season. It was done because Fox got a very cheap deal from Sony, which produces the series, and they would have enough episodes for syndication. It's still unclear how many total episodes the series will have, but it seems at least 85 episodes will be available when it is all said and done.

Finally, the long-running sitcom [scrubs] looks like it is also ending after nine seasons. Zach Braff posted on his Facebook fan page that the series will not return:

"Many of you have asked, so here it is: it appears that "New Scrubs,"
"Scrubs 2.0," "Scrubs with new kids," "Scrubbier," "Scrubs without JD" is no
more. It was worth a try, but alas... it didn't work. zb."

Zach appeared on 6 of the 13 episodes this season, which focused on the new med school students and had a subtitle of [Med School]. So, [scrubs][Med School] looks like is no more, but ABC has yet to announce this. This is not a surprise, though. If [scrubs] is not back then certainly Better off Ted won't be back either (which is a shame).
Stay with us for an official update, as [scrubs] has been called dead before and it came back, but with Braff saying this, it is less likely of a return.

Centric Acquires The A-Team; Two and a Half Men Production Temporarily Shut

Centric, formerly known as BET J (for Jazz), has quietly acquired the '80s action series The A-Team! The series started airing on Monday (Feb. 22) airing weekdays at 7am and 9pm. The A-Team joins fellow '80s action series Miami Vice on the network. Miami Vice will continue to air in its Mon-Sat 11pm hour, as it has since October. However its late night airing of 3am has been moved to weekdays at 5am and it will also gain the weekdays at 6am hour leading into The A-Team at 7am for an action filled block from 5am-8am.
Other TV series still airing on Centric are Soul Train on weekdays at 12 noon, 5pm & 12 midnight; The Steve Harvey Show on weekdays from 1-2pm; American Gangster weekdays at 10pm & 1am; and Homicide: Life on the Street has been relegated to just weekdays at 4am. There are also reality series from other Viacom networks encoring.
The A-Team will get a launch marathon this weekend - Saturday, Feb. 27 and Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010. The marathon on Saturday will air from 12pm-6pm and encore on Sunday from 9am-3pm with the same episodes. The series didn't start off with the two-part pilot "Mexican Slayride" when it joined the network on Monday, instead it started off with the episode after the pilot "Pros and Cons." The series is going in production order, rather than airdate order.
Remember, if you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire The A-Team!

Joint statement from Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment; Peter Roth, President, Warner Bros. Television; and Chuck Lorre, Creator/Executive Producer of Two and a Half Men:

"CBS, Warner Bros. Television and Chuck Lorre support Charlie Sheen in his decision today to begin voluntary in-patient care at a treatment center. We wish him nothing but the best as he deals with this personal matter. Production on Two and a Half Men will be temporarily suspended."

So just for how long? Reports are that he will take a two week break. As of now only one taping has been canceled and that is for this Friday's taping. It is likely the following Friday's (March 5) taping will be canceled as well. The series is in its 7th season and has a 24 episode order, but not sure how this temporary suspension will effect the 24 episode order. Episodes 16 and 17 of the 7th season are scheduled to air on Monday, March 1 and 8. A repeat is scheduled to air on March 15, but that was planned. Reports are 18 episodes have been taped so far, but this is unconfirmed. Stay with us for any further updates!

Nick at Nite February 2010 Has Week-Long 'Nanny' Event; CBS Renews Veterans For 2010-11

Before we get to our lead story, I want to mention we still don't have full details on the Married...with Children on Comedy Central move. But we do know now that it will not launch on Monday. It will launch the following week, Feb. 8 instead. So stay with us!

Back to our lead story, Nick at Nite has announced their February 2010 highlights. The regular schedule will remain the same as it is now, which is pretty strong in the ratings. One change they made last weekend and will occur this weekend as well is that on Friday and Saturday nights from 2-4am Everybody Hates Chris gets an extra hour for some reason, preempting the 3am hour of Family Matters. This change isn't listed beyond this weekend, but that can change. Nothing else is changing.
As for highlights of stunts, Nick at Nite will present a week-long The Nanny marathon in time for Valentine's Day! The marathon starts Monday, Feb. 8 and will last into Valentine's night on Sunday, Feb. 14. The marathon airs from 11pm-6am ET/PT for these seven nights. It's seven nights of love with Fran and family! The Nanny star Fran Drescher hosts "Valentine Schmalentine." During "Valentine Schmalentine," Drescher invites viewers into her "boudoir" as she shares her expertise on love, dating, romance and relationships, as well as her favorite clips from the series. Elsewhere, the last two Sundays of February will have movies on Nick at Nite. The Nickelodeon original movie School Gyrlz will air on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 7pm leading into the big screen movie Drumline from 8pm-10:30pm. And on Sunday, Feb. 28, Nick at Nite will air the classic comedy movie Uncle Buck from 8pm-10:30pm. Other than all that, it is a pretty quiet month for Nick at Nite. Original animated comedy Glenn Martin continues to air Mondays at 8pm.

CBS has ordered more editions of its long running reality franchises Survivor and The Amazing Race for the 2010-2011 season.
Survivor will return with two more editions, marking the 21st and 22nd installments of broadcast television's longest-running reality competition series. The series' 20th edition, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, premieres with a special two-hour episode on Thursday, Feb. 11 from 8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT.
CBS has also ordered the 17th edition of the seven-time Emmy Award-winning reality series The Amazing Race, hosted by Phil Keoghan. The 17th cycle will likely air in Fall 2010. The Amazing Race 16th edition returns Sunday, Feb. 14 at8:00 PM, ET/PT.
And finally, CBS has not officially put out a press release on this, but they have ordered a sixth season of Monday night sitcom How I Met Your Mother for the 2010-11 season. CBS did announce that Jennifer Lopez will guest star in an episode airing this March. Lopez will play Anita Appleby, a no-nonsense author of self-help books that teach women how to train men into relationship machines through the power of denial. When Robin tells Anita how Barney acts toward women, she makes it her mission to "break" him.

NATPE 2010 Syndication: Day 1; Obama's First State of the Union on Wednesday, Network TV Plans

It's that time of year again where stations buy new programs being offered for syndication next fall (or beyond even). The National Association of Television Program Executive (NATPE) conference is held every year in January and as always we will cover it! NATPE is going on this week from Jan. 25-27 in Las Vegas. Latest clearances for Fall 2010:
Twentieth Television will launch Don't Forget the Lyrics! on the Fox-owned TV stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Washington, D.C. It also will air on MyNetwork TV in primetime, paired with Twentieth's Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? on Tuesday nights, replacing Deal or No Deal, which is likely ending after this season. Don't Forget the Lyrics! will also have a run on Viacom-owned cable network VH1 (Fifth Grader airs on Viacom's CMT).
Debmar-Mercury has cleared E!'s True Hollywood Story in more than 65% of the country for a fall 2010 launch. Stations from the Fox, CBS, Weigel, Sunbeam, Capitol, Scripps, Raycom and Landmark broadcast groups have picked up the show, with clearances secured in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Debmar-Mercury has selected key episodes out of the more than 500 that exist. About 180 episodes have been chosen, It will run as a one-hour daily strip weekdays.

As promised, I'll give you the full updates on what the networks will do this Wednesday when President Obama gives his first State of the Union speech. We will cover each time zone, so you all will know what to expect!

First up is ABC. ABC will now not air an all-new [scrubs] now on a special night of Wednesday at 8pm due to the State of the Union plans. Instead a repeat of Modern Family will air instead. So, for the east/central, ABC will air Modern Family and The Middle repeats at 8/7 central. Then ABC will air the ABC News Special: President Obama's State of the Union Address and the Republican Response at 9/8c through 10:30/9:30c. A repeat of Cougar Town will air at a special time of 10:30/9:30c.
For the mountain time zone, the ABC News Special: President Obama's State of the Union Address and the Republican Response will air at 7:00pm MT followed by a repeat of Cougar Town at 8:30pm MT. Modern Family and The Middle repeats will follow at a special hour of 9pm MT.
Finally for the Pacific time zone, ABC News Special: President Obama's State of the Union Address and the Republican Response will air live at 6pm PT. From 7:30pm through 8:30pm PT, local programming will air. Comedy repeats will air in their normal times with The Middle, Modern Family and Cougar Town from 8:30pm-10pm PT. Next up is CBS. For the east/central time zones, repeats of Old Christine and Gary Unmarried will air in its normal 8/7 central hour. Then at 98 central, CBS News Special: President Obama's State of the Union Address and the Republican Response will air live. A repeat of Two and a Half Men will air at 10:30/9:30c on a special night.
For the mountain time zone, CBS News Special: President Obama's State of the Union Address and the Republican Response airs live at 7pm MT. Two and a Half Men will follow at 8:30pm MT, followed by repeats of Old Christine and Gary Unmarried at a special time from 9-10pm MT.
And finally for the Pacific time zone, CBS News Special: President Obama's State of the Union Address and the Republican Response airs live at 6pm PT. Local programming airs at 7:30pm PT following the speech. Old Christine and Gary Unmarried repeats air in their normal time periods of 8-9pm PT. A repeat of Two and a Half Men will air at 9:00pm PT on a special night, followed by another repeat of Gary Unmarried at 9:30pm PT. If the State of the Union does run long and ends at 11pm ET/8pm PT then in the Pacific time zone, Two and a Half Men/Gary Unmarried won't air in the 9pm PT hour. Moving to NBC, for the east/central time zone, a repeat of Mercy will air in its normal timeslot of 87 central, followed by NBC News Special: President Obama's State of the Union Address and the Republican Response. NBC has programmed it through 11/10c, so unlike ABC and CBS a comedy repeat will not air at 10:30/9:30c.
For the Mountain time zone, NBC News Special: President Obama's State of the Union Address and the Republican Response will air live at 7pm MT, followed by a repeat of Mercy at a special time of 9pm MT. And finally for the Pacific time zone, NBC News Special: President Obama's State of the Union Address and the Republican Response will air live at 6pm PT, followed by a repeat of Mercy at 8pm PT in its normal hour. Second High School Reunion Episode Scores for TV Land; Steve Harvey Now Host of Family Feud; State of the Union Airs Jan. 27

Wednesday night's (Jan. 20) second episode premiere of TV Land's original series High School Reunion scored impressive, double-digit gains across key demos over last week's season premiere (Jan. 13), building momentum for the popular series.
According to Nielsen Media Research, the second episode's installment of High School Reunion posted a 0.5 A25-54 rating (532,000 viewers among A25-54), up 56% in rating and 55% in viewers 25-54 over the season premiere (Jan. 13). Among the network's core A40-54 audience, the episode posted a 0.6 rating (322,000 viewers 40-54) increasing 54% in rating and 55% in viewers 40-54 over last week. The network averaged 788,000 total viewers for the second episode, up 38% versus the season premiere, with a median age of 44.
The eight-episode season from Next Entertainment and Warner Horizon Television is set on the beautiful island of Kauai and reunites former classmates from Las Vegas, Nevada’s Chaparral High School Class of 1989. This season makes High School Reunion history with three marriage proposals and an unforgettable wedding set against a beautiful Hawaiian backdrop. Yet with all the love in the air, old rivalries lurk in the shadows and some of the classmates have come to the reunion to settle scores with their high school nemeses, reveal secrets about their past, seek acceptance from their peers and hear long-sought-after apologies from their former classmates. The season finale will air Wednesday, March 3, 2010.

Family Feud is getting yet another new host. Current host John O'Hurley will be leaving at the end of the season. O'Hurley has been host since fall 2006. O'Hurley said in a statement that he decided to focus on his role in the touring production of the musical Chicago and a variety of business ventures. Replacing O'Hurley now will be former sitcom star Steve Harvey! He will take over starting Fall 2010, the 12th season of the revival.
Harvey, one of "The Original Kings of Comedy," is perhaps best known to audiences from his time starring in The Steve Harvey Show, which aired on The WB from 1996 to 2002. Harvey also hosts The Steve Harvey Morning Show, a nationally syndicated radio program that is heard daily by more than seven million listeners in more than 64 markets nationwide. He is also a special contributor to ABC's Good Morning America.
Family Feud returned to first-run syndication in Fall 1999 with host Louie Anderson. He was fired because he was bored and was replaced by Richard Karn in 2002. Karn left the show in 2006, replaced by O'Hurley, who will leave at the end of this season. Of course the original run of the series was hosted by the great Richard Dawson from 1976-85 on ABC. Then the series was revived once again from 1988-95, with the late Ray Combs as host for CBS and also syndication. Combs was fired in 1994, so Richard Dawson was brought back to host the 94-95 season. Combs committed suicide in 1996. And that's the history of Family Feud for you! They should have Dawson guest host a few times at least in 2010-11.

We wanted to cover the State of the Union plans for the networks today, but Fox and NBC still hasn't given us the plans for Mountain and Pacific timezones, so we will hold off until Monday for our report on that. TV Land March 2010 Has Return of Bewitched; Hope For Haiti Now Telethon Airs Friday Night

As we hinted a few weeks ago, TV Land has re-acquired the '60s classic sitcom Bewitched once again and will launch it again in March 2010! The sitcom will air weekdays at 5:00pm & 5:30pm ET/PT starting March 1 replacing an hour of The Andy Griffith Show, but that show will still remain in its other hour of 8-9pm ET/PT, so not to worry. Bewitched will also get many weekend marathon blocks, replacing Married...with Children. Once again Married...with Children will be off the schedule, which is very odd since it does well. Married's Mon-Thurs slots will be replaced by M*A*S*H in the 12am hour. Yes you might say, wait Married airs right now Mon-Thurs in the 10pm and 1am hours, but come Feb. 15 it will move to the 12am hour and that's it. Roseanne will take the 10pm hour by Feb. 15. All of this is subject to change, given that Married always comes back. Will it return to sister network Spike TV again and then come back a few days later on TV Land? I bet. We'll let you know.
The other changes are all to late night on weeknights, with The Cosby Show hour moving now to 1-2am instead of 3-4am. And Roseanne late nights are now 2-4am. As mentioned earlier, Bewitched will air on most weekends in marathon blocks: weekend of March 6-7, March 20-21, and March 27. Everything else is the same as the schedule that will start Feb. 15 when Boston Legal joins the line-up.

Moving on to the highlights, High School Reunion will end its third season on Wednesday, March 3 at 10pm. Missed any episodes? Watch a marathon of the previous seven episodes of the season earlier in the day from 9am-4pm ET/PT. Right after the finale, TV Land will have a sneak peek airing of new reality series First Love, Second Chance at 11pm. The series will then air Wednesdays at 10pm starting the very next week (March 10). Remember your first love? What if the one who got away...came back? What if you could give your first love a second chance? First Love, Second Chance is the TV Land PRIME original series that reunites former flames to give them a shot at rekindling their romance. They take turns living in each other's world while reconnecting, reminiscing, sorting out what they once had and what drove them apart, and imagining a new future together. Finally, they head back to their own homes and make a decision--which each sends via a video message: Do they want to call it quits, or commit to giving their relationship a second chance? Find out on this new original series from TV Land PRIME.

Elsewhere, the weekend of March 6-7, TV Land gets ready for First Love with Roseanne's very own David and Darlene. Tune in and follow a romance like no other as we chronicle every moment of their love story from their first kiss to their breakup followed by their wedding and ending with the birth of their baby girl. This stunt is sure to have viewers wondering what happened to their first love and spark interest for TV Land PRIME's new original series First Love, Second Chance which as we mentioned will be premiering Wednesday, March 10 at 10pm!
We mentioned Bewitched will get some weekend blocks, but all of those except one is an actual marathon. The others are just regular airings with episodes going in order, but on March 20-21 Bewitched gets a marathon with themed episodes! Before Bella fell for Edward in Twilight, before Sookie swooned over Bill in True Blood, even before Buffy scored Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, everybody's favorite witch, Samantha married the mortal man of her dreams, Darrin Stephens, and started a cozy life in the suburbs. The weekend of March 20-21 TV Land welcomes back the original supernatural suburban sorceress with a two day marathon of the best episodes of Bewitched, featuring Samantha using her magic to make life a little easier by teaching bizarre relatives, nosy neighbors and boorish bosses some sorely needed life lessons.

TV Land will also have movie premieres in March. Three classic films will make their debut on TV Land PRIME on Friday nights: The Birdcage, St. Elmo's Fire and Dazed & Confused. Also encoring in March are You've Got Mail and The Brady Bunch Movie.
That's about it for TV Land March 2010. You might be wondering if Bewitched will remain on WGN America? As of now, yes it will remain on WGN America. It's always nice to have double the magic! If anything changes on WGN , we'll let you know. Coming in April 2010 to TV Land will be Everybody Loves Raymond which will join TV Land PRIME. It was originally slated for June, so TV Land will start it a few months early. Also the TV Land Awards will air its annual event in April. As you all know by, there was an earthquake in Haiti last week. There will be a telethon to raise money this Friday. Hope for Haiti Now will be the most widely distributed telethon in history, both internationally and across media platforms. The two-hour telethon will air on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1, and CMT on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and 7:00 p.m. CT. Hope for Haiti Now will also air on newly added networks including PBS, TNT, Showtime, COMEDY CENTRAL, Bravo, E! Entertainment, National Geographic Channel, Oxygen, G4, CENTRIC, Current TV, Fuse, MLB Network, EPIX, Palladia, SoapNet, Style, Discovery Health, Planet Green, and Canadian networks including CBC Television, CTV, Global Television, and MuchMusic. The event will be live streamed online globally across sites including YouTube, Hulu, MySpace, Fancast, AOL, MSN.com, Yahoo, Bing.com, BET.com, CNN.com, MTV.com, VH1.com, and Rhapsody and on mobile via Alltel, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and FloTV.
Hope for Haiti Now will also air internationally on BET International, CNN International, National Geographic, and MTV Networks International, which is available in 640 million homes worldwide. Hope for Haiti Now will be the first U.S.-based telethon airing on MTV in China. Facebook and Twitter have signed on as official social media partners to help drive donations and tune-in to the telethon.
Hope for Haiti Now is produced by Joel Gallen and Tenth Planet Productions, in collaboration with Viacom's MTV Networks and George Clooney.

The global telethon will feature performances by Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, and Sting in New York City; Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift and a group performance by Keith Urban, Kid Rock, and Sheryl Crow in Los Angeles; and Coldplay, and a group performance by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z, and Rihanna in a newly added London location. All musical performances will be available for purchase for $.99 per song through the Apple iTunes Store beginning Saturday, January 23, with all proceeds benefiting Haiti relief funds managed by Hope for Haiti Now charities.
In addition to musical performances, Wyclef Jean in New York City, George Clooney in Los Angeles, and CNN's Anderson Cooper reporting from Haiti, Hope for Haiti Now will feature more than one hundred of the biggest names in film, television, and music supporting the cause with testimonials and by answering phones during the telethon.

How will ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and The CW primetime be affected by this? ABC will preempt new episodes of Supernanny and Shark Tank, but 20/20 will remain in the 10pm hour. As of now, ABC hasn't re-scheduled those episodes. CBS will preempt new episodes of Ghost Whisperer, Medium, and NUMB3RS that were supposed to air Friday to next Friday now, when they were supposed to be repeats anyway. CBS will air a repeat of Medium at 10pm following the telethon. NBC will preempt new episodes of Law & Order and Dateline, but Jay Leno Show will of course remain at 10pm. Conan must be rolling his eyes over that. Law & Order won't be new now until March 1 when it moves to Mondays. Fox will have to move the finale of Dollhouse to next Friday at 8pm. The finale of Dollhouse will lead into the season premiere of Kitchen Nightmares next Friday. What a nightmare that lead-in will be for Kitchen Nightmares! Dollhouse finale was originally slated for this Friday at 9pm following a repeat of Bones. And finally, The CW was supposed to return Smallville with new episodes, but now that will be pushed back until next Friday at 8pm.

TCA Winter 2010 Press Tour: Cable Day 2; NBC Midseason 2010 Changes, 10PM Added; CBS Picks Up Second Seasons of Two Rookies

It is day two of the cable portion of the TCA Winter 2010 press tour. Up today are MTV Networks, lunch with Wild and Nat Geo, BBC America, Comcast Entertainment Group and dinner with IFC.
MTV Networks will have MTV, Logo, Spike TV, VH1, and Nickelodeon. Don't think TV Land is announcing anything. We'll let you know if they do. Among MTV's announcement was for scripted sitcom! The Hard Times of RJ Berger, a twisted mix of Superbad and The Wonder Years, is a 30-minute single camera scripted comedy that follows the awkward life of RJ Berger (played by Paul Iacono), a late-blooming loser struggling to navigate the minefield of being 15. This series takes a look at the classic teenage milestones we all experience, and the high school horror stories we would rather forget. The series is slated to air in summer. Two reality series are in the works as well for summer: Warren the Ape and The World of Jenks. Moving on to Logo, The Robert Verdi Show Starring Robert Verdi, a reality series, launches Feb. 10. Spike TV is announcing Facing Ali, a documentary that showcases ten of Muhammad Ali's acclaimed rivals, from Joe Frazier to George Foreman, paying tribute to perhaps the world's most beloved and inspiring athlete. It premieres Feb. 15. VH1 is teaming up with Jessica Simpson! The Price of Beauty takes Jessica Simpson and a few friends all around the world to meet everyday women to study the local fashions, dietary fads and beauty regimes of various cultures. She and a few of her friends will discover how beauty is perceived in different cultures and participate in some of the crazy things people do to feel beautiful. The series premieres March 14. Finally for MTV Networks, Nickelodeon will launch two comedies. Big Time Rush is a live-action, scripted comedy series that chronicles the journey of four best friends who are given the opportunity of a lifetime when they get a chance to be part of the glamorous L.A. pop music scene. The network has ordered 20 episodes and has started airing it already. The other comedy is Victorious and it follows Tori Vega (Victoria Justice), a teen who unexpectedly finds herself navigating life at an elite performing arts high school. This one launches in February (EDIT: now it is March 27).

During lunch time, NatGeo announced plans for a spin-off network: NatGeo Wild. From the leader in natural history programming for over 30 years, NatGeo Wild is a new network dedicated exclusively to bringing audiences extraordinary wildlife programming -- offering intimate encounters with nature's ferocious fighters and gentle creatures of land, sea and air. The exclusive new programming will use the latest technology to get viewers closer to nature and expose the mysteries of the animal kingdom, including: Expedition Wild with Casey Anderson; Mystery Gorillas with Mireya Mayor; and Predator Island with Enric Sala. Among the announcements for NatGeo was for new series And Man Created Dog coming in the summer. It was the hand of man that led to the great variety of dogs we see, even as we have bent their instincts and their very genes to accommodate our needs. Now, in the ultimate canine ancestral story, the NGC explores this genetic journey and unravels their story. And Man Created Dog journeys back 100,000 years to the original wolf pack, and introduces us to the "mother of all dogs" Then traced is the evolutionary journey of her descendants over the eons, and examined is their complex relationship with people, even as we've evolved ourselves.

After lunch has BBC America going. They will have a new season of Top Gear launching Jan. 25. They will have a new drama series as well. Survivors, set in the present day, focuses on the world in the aftermath of a virus where only a lonely few are left to start over in a devastated world where everything that was once safe and familiar is now strange and dangerous.
Then after a writing break, we join Comcast Entertainment Group executives and talent for informal interviews, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Guests include Ryan Seacrest, E! News, Live from the Red Carpet; Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian, Bruce Jenner, Keeping Up with the Kardashians; Kristin Dos Santos, E! Online; Danielle Fishel, The Dish; Kevin Pereira, Olivia Munn, Blair Butler, Alison Haislip, Chris Gore, Attack of the Show and more!
Finally, IFC invites the press to experience its latest food-centric shows -- Food Party and Dinner with the Band -- with live music, hors d'oeuvres, dinner and cocktails! Zany, yet delicious food, drinks and decor will be inspired by show hosts Thu Tran and Sam Mason.

Goodbye Jay Leno. At least in primetime. NBC is now programming the weekday 10pm hour again. NBC unveiled its new post-Winter Olympics primetime program schedule. The new drama series Parenthood will now premiere on Tuesday, March 2 at 10 p.m. ET and the comedy panel series The Marriage Ref from Jerry Seinfeld will now premiere on Thursday, March 4 at 10 p.m. ET after its still scheduled sneak preview on Sunday, February 28 at 10:30 p.m. ET following NBC's coverage of the Closing Ceremony of the Winter Olympics. Previously Parenthood was scheduled for Mondays at 9, now it will be Tuesdays at 10 for 13 weeks, while The Marriage Ref was scheduled for Sundays at 8, now it will be Thursdays at 10 for 6 weeks. So two rookies will be plugged in the 10pm hour on two nights of the week. What about the other three nights? Keep reading.
The long-running series Law & Order continues its 20th season debuting on a new night & time with a two-hour telecast from 9-11 p.m. ET on Monday, March 1 before settling into its regular time period the following week, Monday, March 8 in the 10 p.m. ET hour. Spin-off Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will move up an hour to Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET beginning March 3. Encore episodes will now air in its current 9 p.m. ET slot followed by original episodes at 10 p.m. ET. Trauma returns to the schedule Monday, March 8 at 9 p.m. ET to complete its six remaining episodes. NBC has not announced what will air after that. Maybe encores of USA Network's Law & Order: Criminal Intent? We shall see.
In addition, the new alternative series Who Do You Think You Are? from Lisa Kudrow will premiere Friday, March 5 at 8 p.m. ET (in Law & Order's old slot) and the new game show Minute to Win It joins the lineup on Sunday, March 14 at 8 p.m. ET leading into Celebrity Apprentice. Also, DirecTV's Friday Night Lights will begin a new broadcast season on NBC on Fridays at 8 p.m. ET starting April 30 after Who Do You Think You Are? concludes its run and will go into summer as it has 13 episodes. Dateline NBC will expand to two-hours on Fridays now starting March 5, and will air from 9-11pm. Still no word on when NBC will schedule midseason comedy 100 Questions.

Finally, CBS has renewed two rookie dramas. CBS's NCIS: Los Angeles and The Good Wife, the season's top two freshman series in total viewers, have been renewed for the 2010-2011 broadcast season (their second seasons). No surprise.
NCIS: Los Angeles is the number one new program of the season (airs after the number one series on TV, NCIS) with an average audience of 16.8 million viewers. The show is averaging a solid 5.3/12 in adults 25-54 and 3.8/10 in adults 18-49. Shane Brennan and R. Scott Gemmill are executive producers of NCIS: Los Angeles for CBS Television Studios.
The Good Wife regularly wins its Tuesday at 10:00 PM time period in viewers (13.7m), adults 25-54 (4.2/11), adults 18-49 (3.0/8) and key women demographics. Compared to the time period a year ago, The Good Wife is up +3% in viewers, +5% in adults 25-54 and 8% in adults 18-49. Tony Scott, Ridley Scott, Robert King, Michelle King, David Zucker and Brooke Kennedy are executive producers of The Good Wife for CBS Television Studios.

TCA Winter 2010 Press Tour: CBS and The CW; Hallmark Channel Does Daytime Time Shifting

The TCA Winter 2010 Press Tour has begun today in Pasadena, CA with CBS in the morning and The CW will go today in late afternoon (after Showtime). After breakfast at 8am PT, CBS had their executive session at 9am PT. CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler was on hand to answer questions. She even talked about her feelings about this Jay Leno Show fiasco going on at NBC, saying ABC, CBS and Fox has thrived over NBC's experiment. She confirmed that freshman medical drama Three Rivers has been officially canceled and is no longer on "hiatus." She is also trying to find a new series for the star of that show, Alex O'Loughlin. She also talked about the creative issues on CSI since Fishburne entered and the downfall of their Friday series in the ratings. NUMB3RS ending early doesn't mean it won't return next season, as new drama Miami Medical is launching in its slot. With this change, Canadian imports Flashpoint and The Bridge will not launch in the season, but will be available in the summer. Episode orders are 18 and 13 respectively. NUMB3RS and Medium still have a chance to return next season and Medium flows very well with Ghost Whisperer. She also mentioned that they are very high on Undercover Boss, which will launch after the Super Bowl. She has seen 5 or 6 episodes already and feels it could be their next big reality brand. That's about it. Nothing major here.
After the executive session, there were half-hour panels with casts and crews (with 15-minute breaks in between each). First up were producers from the CBS Comedy Power Hour (Two and a Half Men/The Big Bang Theory) at about 9:45am PT. Chuck Lorre, Lee Aronsohn and Bill Prady were on hand to talk about these two powerhouses. Addressed were the Charlie Sheen arrest situation and underusing Kaley Cuoco on Big Bang in the pilot. And no Sheldon-Penny will not happen! Then at 10:30am PT the executive producer (Stephen Lambert) of Undercover Boss along with the CEO from Waste Management (Larry O'Donnell, III) were on hand to talk about the upcoming reality series. Coming up at 11:15am PT are the cast and crew of the upcoming new medical drama Miami Medical. On hand will be stars Jeremy Northam, Lana Parrilla, Mike Vogel, Elisabeth Harnois, and Omar Gooding, along with creator Jeffrey Leiber, and producers Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, and Steve Maeda. Ha, Leiber will be asked LOST questions, since he was a producer on that show. Lunch will be served at 11:45am PT as everyone gets gourmet box lunches.

After everything is over today there will be a Survivor 10th Anniversary at CBS Television City starting at 7pm PT. Everyone will mix and mingle among castaways past and present including the entire cast of the upcoming Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains. Also, in attendance will be Host Jeff Probst, Executive Producer Mark Burnett, as well as other producers, key crew members and CBS executives.

Following the lunch break will be Showtime at 12:30pm PT. We won't cover that, but the panels that are scheduled are Nurse Jackie, United States of Tara, The Green Room with Paul Provenza, and Oliver Stone's Secret History of America.

The CW goes later this afternoon starting at 4pm PT. If anything breaking happens, we will return and edit it in here, but they have panels with the cast and crew of the upcoming Monday drama series Life UneXpected and then the cast and crew of the popular The Vampire Diaries will be on hand. Following these two panels there will be The Vampire Diaries' Bloody Mary Cocktail Reception. In schedule news, the only thing they announced was the date for the all-new season of America's Next Top Model 14, launching Wednesday, March 3, 2010 with a two-hour premiere starting at 8pm. Programming for the post-Top Model hour will be announced at a later time. View our previous story on the Monday night changes. Other than that, The CW will remain the same through the season.

Stay tuned tomorrow for NBC's turn at the press tour. That will be interesting. More drama, I'm sure. Too bad they can't get anyone interested in any of their shows like they do with their idiotic moves.

And finally in regular news, Hallmark Channel will make some schedule changes starting Monday after only a week with the new schedule. The schedule changes are to daytime only from 9am-4pm, as 4pm-4am will remain the same. It will be only time shifting really. Golden Girls' daytime airing moves to the mornings, Little House will now move to mid-morning, 7th Heaven is now afternoons, and AFV's early airing is now paired with its late afternoon airings. So nothing is leaving.

CBS Scripted Series Mid-Season 2010 Schedule Updates; NBC Fiasco; Fox Pulls New Reality Show Before Airing

Last month we gave you news on CBS's unscripted series plans for mid-season 2010, now we have the scripted portion. CBS has announced mid-season moves for its scripted series, including the premiere of the new drama Miami Medical and the return of the comedy Rules of Engagement.
Miami Medical, about a team of expert surgeons who thrive on the adrenaline rush of working at one of the premiere trauma facilities in the country while drawing upon their wit and irreverence to survive on the edge, debuts Friday, April 2 at 10:00 PM, ET/PT for 13 episodes (as it seems it will go through the end of June). Miami Medical replaces NUMB3RS, which will have completed its season order of 16 episodes by then. NUMB3RS will wrap its season up on Friday, March 12 actually because of NCAA March Madness beginning Thursday, March 18 preempting Friday programming on March 19 and 26.
Rules of Engagement returns for its fourth season with 13 episodes starting on Monday, March 1 at 8:30PM, ET/PT, replacing Accidentally on Purpose. Accidentally on Purpose will continue to be broadcast on Mondays at 8:30 PM through February 22 before moving to its new night of Wednesdays at 8:30 PM, ET/PT beginning March 31 where it will be paired with Old Christine. Accidentally on Purpose has an 18 episode order, but will likely get more since it will be airing on a new night now and about 15 episodes will have already aired on Mondays before the move to Wednesdays. Accidentally on Purpose replaces Gary Unmarried, which will have also completed its season order of 17 episodes by then. Gary Unmarried will have its season finale on March 17, because a special Wednesday edition of Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains will air on March 24 from 8-9 PM because of NCAA March Madness on Thursday, March 25. I guess there will be no Survivor at all during the week of March 18.
CBS is up tomorrow at the 2010 TCA Winter Press Tour, so more to come I'm sure. Check back with us tomorrow with a special Saturday edition of news out of the winter press tour. Broadcast is up first from Jan. 9-12, followed by cable from Jan. 14-16.

Speaking of that winter press tour, I'm sure we will find out what is going on with this stupid and crazy NBC fiasco. Reports are that The Jay Leno Show is being canned from primetime and will move to 11:35pm ET/PT. This ongoing NBC craziness just gets worse and worse. I told you this was a bad idea in the first place back when they announced this show for primetime. Now NBC is sending damaged goods to lead off their late night? Nightline and Letterman will beat Leno in the ratings I'm sure if this happens, just like how they are beating the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. NBC just makes things worse and worse. Now if this happens what to do they at 10pm? Probably Dateline and other filler inexpensive programming since they have no scripted programming whatsoever available (besides Parenthood, which has already been scheduled for Mondays at 9 in March). The move is set to happen in March after the Olympics. It looks like Leno will be a half hour leading into Conan moving to 12am and Fallon moving to 1am. Carson Daly will probably be canned. He was always in repeats anyway and no one cares about that show. Stay with us, because none of this is official. But with NBC anything stupid is possible. They are no longer a serious network and haven't been for some years now. NBC is up at the TCA Winter Press Tour on Sunday morning, so it will be announced then if not earlier. Stay with us.

One other network note, Fox has announced that new reality series Our Little Genius will not premiere Wednesday, Jan. 13, as previously announced. The series was set to get a sneak peek this coming Wednesday after Idol, before moving to Tuesdays at 9 the following week after the Tuesday edition of Idol. Why is Fox pulling it? Creator Mark Burnett says the following:
"I recently discovered that there was an issue with how some information was relayed to contestants during the pre-production of Our Little Genius. As a result, I am not comfortable delivering the episodes without re-shooting them. I believe my series must always be beyond reproach, so I have requested that Fox not air these episodes."
So what now? Fox will air an encore of the 450th episode of The Simpsons on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 9:30 PM ET/PT (it premieres Sunday, Jan. 10 at 8) following a special extended episode of American Idol from 8:00-9:30 PM ET/PT. It was previously scheduled for a 75-minute episode. On Tuesday, Jan. 19, Fox will air an encore of the pilot episode of the new action-drama series Human Target at 9:00 PM ET/PT following American Idol. As mentioned, Human Target gets a special Sunday launch two days prior on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 8:00PM. It regularly will air Wednesdays at 8:00PM starting Jan. 27, but on Wednesday, Jan. 20 it will air at 9:00PM. Further scheduling information will be announced soon for Tuesdays at 9:00 PM.

Spike TV Launch Date for Entourage Reruns; 36th Annual People's Choice Awards Winners

Back in May we announced that Spike TV had gotten rerun rights on cable to the premium cable comedy Entourage. We mentioned that it would start in January and be shared with sister network Comedy Central. We haven't gotten news yet on Comedy Central, but Spike TV will air it Tuesdays starting Jan. 12!
The Emmy, Golden Globe, and Peabody Award-winning series Entourage will begin its basic cable run on Spike TV this Tuesday, January 12 with back-to-back episodes starting at 9pm, et/pt. The series will televise in this timeslot through October, and will feature two premiere episodes each week. After that, it will be available for five-days-a-week play. It will be then shared with WGN America and local broadcast syndication starting in Fall 2010.
Spike TV will have encores of the two episodes later in the night at 11pm & 11:30pm as well. Whenever Comedy Central announces a date, we'll let you know. It could be this fall though.
Stay with us in the coming weeks for NATPE (Jan. 25-27), where we will find out what will be offered in syndication this fall (2010).

CBS Announces Reality Plans for Midseason 2010; Fox Makes Changes to Two Nights in Midseason

CBS has announced their reality series plans for mid-season 2010. CBS will premiere its new reality series Undercover Boss following CBS Sports' coverage of Super Bowl XLIV on Sunday, Feb 7 from 10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT; time is approximate after Post Game coverage. Undercover Boss, which follows high level chief executives as they slip anonymously into the rank and file of their companies, moves to its regular time period the following Sunday on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 9:00 PM ET/PT, as part of a new two-hour reality block, where it will be paired with the 16th edition of The Amazing Race. The Amazing Race has its 16th edition premiere on that night (Sunday, Feb. 14 at 8:00 PM ET/PT). Because of these changes, crime drama Cold Case will move back to 10:00 PM ET/PT starting this night.
In other CBS reality series news, two specials will air on Jan. 28 and Feb. 4. Live for the Moment, a one-hour special from Emmy Award winners Jeff Probst and Mark Burnett, will be broadcast Thursday, Jan. 28 at 8:00 PM ET/PT. Live for the Moment reveals how one person's life-changing event inspired them to live life to the fullest. Host Jeff Probst takes that person on a series of adventures and experiences that create special life moments with family and friends. This person shares their inspiring insights on how they live their lives differently and by doing so, possibly will change the way others live too. Surviving Survivor (working title), a one-hour special will air on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 8:00 PM ET/PT, revisiting some of the greatest moments in Survivor history and following up on life after Survivor with some of the most memorable castaways. The special, executive produced by Susan Zirinsky for Eye2 Productions, contains fresh interviews with Survivor favorites, and offers a sneak peak at the new Survivor, which will launch on Feb. 11. Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, the 20th edition of the franchise, premieres with a two-hour episode, Thursday, Feb. 11 from 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT. Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains will reunite some of the most memorable, heroic and controversial castaways from previous Survivor seasons. The series' best strategists will face off in their attempt to overcome - or embrace - the label placed upon them as they return for revenge or redemption. The series will air weekly in the 8:00 PM ET/PT hour, as always, starting Feb. 18.
CBS still has not announced premiere dates and information on any mid-season scripted series. Returning sitcom Rules of Engagement and new dramas Miami Medical and The Bridge have not yet been given premiere dates. I can see Rules and Miami Medical launching in March with The Bridge probably in the summer. Stay with us for details on these as soon as we get it.

Meanwhile at Fox, they have announced they will make some time changes for Wednesdays and Sundays. American Idol and new drama Human Target will have their times flipped starting Jan. 27. Idol will shift to 9pm, while Human Target moves to 8pm. Human Target will still have its Wednesday launch on Jan. 20 following Idol, but will then have to lead off the night starting Jan. 27. Human Target will still have its series premiere on Sunday, Jan. 17 following NFL Divisional Playoff coverage.
The other mid-season time change for Fox will be on Sundays, but not until March 14. New mid-season sitcom Sons of Tucson will now air Sundays at 9:30pm, rather than 8:30pm. This means The Cleveland Show will stay put at 8:30pm, as it was slated to move to 9:30pm. Fox has ordered 13 episodes oddly of Sons of Tuscon, but they will not be able to fit all 13 in this season, unless it gets additional airings elsewhere. No word on where American Dad! will go, but it is likely it will move to 7:30pm starting March 14 or at a later date (or maybe if Tucson bombs, it returns at 9:30pm a few weeks later?).

So we are just about set for all the networks for January and February. NBC and Fox has announced nearly all of their plans for the entire mid-season, but CBS and ABC still have some March dates to announce. ABC also has to announce what they plan to do on Tuesdays at 8:00pm starting Feb. 9 and Fridays at 9:00pm starting Feb. 12. Scrubs and Better off Ted are done with their seasons after Jan. 26, more on that tomorrow.

George Lopez Sitcom Reunion on Lopez Tonight Next Week; Around the TV Horn

Watch out! There is going to be a George Lopez show reunion on his TBS Lopez Tonight talk show next Tuesday! Orale! George Lopez aired on ABC from 2002-2007, you 'member, 'member? The entire cast of the sitcom will get together on George's new late night talk show next Tuesday (December 15, 2009) on TBS! Reuniting with George will be Constance Marie (Angie), Belita Moreno (Benny), Valente Rodriguez (Ernie), Masiela Lusha (Carmen), Luis Armand Garcia (Max), and Aimee Garcia (Veronica). Wapppah! Cannot wait! But sabes que, the only other regular missing it seems is Emiliano Díez, who played Angie's father, Vic. Ta loca, why no Vic? Anyway, spread the word (like this blog story) that next Tuesday at 11, tune into Lopez Tonight on TBS for the George Lopez sitcom reunion! If there are any more updates on this we'll let you know! It's time for another edition of Notes from Around the TV Horn! As The World Turns, the long-running daytime drama, will complete its final season on the CBS Television Network in September 2010. CBS has decided not to renew the show for the 2010/2011 broadcast season, thereby ending its 54-year run on CBS. The epitome of multi-generational, serial storytelling, As The World Turns has been entertaining generations of fans for more than half a century. The show boasts a well-loved and long-tenured cast, including actress Helen Wagner (Nancy Hughes) who spoke the first words on the premier broadcast of ATWT in 1956. To this day, Nancy is still at the helm of the Hughes family, earning Wagner the distinction of portraying the longest-running character in television history. ATWT joins Guiding Light, which ended this past September, as a canceled long-running soap opera.
First-run syndicated series The Bonnie Hunt Show will go off the air after the end of this season. The Warner Bros. produced series is currently in its second season. The series is averaging only a 0.8 household rating.
Meanwhile, Twentieth Century Fox's Judge Alex and Divorce Court have both been renewed through the 2011-12 season. For next season, 2010-11, each program is cleared in 75% of the country and in the top 15 markets as of now, including on the Fox Television Stations in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago. B&C reports that Twentieth is also offering off-network Nat Geo's Dog Whisperer to stations for fall 2010 and off-net FX's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia for fall 2011, as well as renewing Fox's Family Guy for a second cycle. The company also is marketing Family Guy spin-off, American Dad!, for a possible fall 2011 launch. Stay with us for more on this at NATPE next month!

AmericanLife January 2010: Rhoda and Phyllis Join Schedule; CBS Pulls Three Rivers, Books 2nd I Get That A Lot Special

One month from today, on Friday, January 1, 2010, AmericanLife Network (ALN) will add the Mary Tyler Moore Show spin-offs Rhoda and Phyllis to its weekday schedule! You'll have two chances to watch them as well! The sitcoms will air in the weekdays at 10am hour and encore in the weekdays at 5pm hour later in the day, if you missed them in the morning! Rhoda and Phyllis will be replacing Bob Newhart Show and Newhart (both will be off the line-up now) in the 5pm hour, and lifestyle programming in the 10am hour.
Rhoda starred Valerie Harper in the title role and aired from 1974-78 lasting 110 episodes. It was about Rhoda Morgenstern, who was the spunky, weight conscious, flamboyantly-fashioned best friend of Mary Richards who left Minneapolis and returned home to New York City.
Phyllis starred Cloris Leachman in the title role and aired from 1975-77 lasting 48 episodes. It was about Phyllis Lindstrom, who was previously Mary Richards' landlady on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. In the new series, Phyllis and her daughter Bess Lindstrom moved from Minneapolis to San Francisco, after the death of her husband, Dr. Lars Lindstrom.
In other ALN January 2010 news, Chicken Soul for the Soup will also air on weekdays now! Starting Jan. 1, it will air weekdays at 11am, replacing lifestyle programming. Soup will continue to air on weekends at 6pm as well. Meanwhile, Mission: Impossible will now air weekdays at 6pm, as Sue Thomas F.B.Eye moves to 7pm, replacing L.A. Law. Not to worry, as L.A. Law will now air at 9pm Mon-Thurs, as St. Elsewhere kicks off the night now at 8pm Mon-Thurs and Hill Street Blues closes the night at 10pm Mon-Thurs. Encores of these three dramas start at 12am Mon-Thurs with St. Elsewhere, followed by L.A. Law and Hill Street Blues from 1-3am Mon-Thurs. Airing in between will be an encore of Sue Thomas F.B.Eye weekdays at 11pm. On Fridays, the ALN Classic Movie will air at 8pm, followed by Mission Impossible at 10pm, 12am, & 1am, and The Color Honeymooners at 2am, as that will continue to air Fri-Sun at 2am. Weekends remain the same as now.
And don't forget about the 5pm hour holiday episodes all this month which began yesterday! We get classic Christmas episodes all month long from 5-6pm with classics like WKRP, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, and even Mr. Belvedere! Streaks on the china, never mattered before! As we first reported on our message board, CBS is pulling Three Rivers off the schedule effective immediately. Cold Case will move into the 9pm hour effective this Sunday, with various crime (what else?) repeats airing at 10pm the next few weeks. NCIS: LA will air this Sunday, Criminal Minds on Dec. 13, and Cold Case on Dec. 27 (as we announced, a repeat of the movie Jesse Stone: Thin Ice will air Dec. 27 from 8-10pm). Survivor finale is on Dec. 20. CBS has not announced yet what will air in the hour starting in January. CBS already has to fill the Sunday 8pm hour starting Dec. 13, since The Amazing Race ends its season this Sunday. A repeat of The Mentalist is slated for Dec. 13, with the Survivor finale on Dec. 20, and the Jesse Stone movie repeat on Dec. 27.
In other CBS updates, a second special of I Get That A Lot will air Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 in the 8pm hour. The special is a fun filled, hidden camera special, whereby top celebrities perform ordinary jobs, while denying their real identity...only to later reveal that it is indeed them. The first special aired on April Fool's Day earlier this year to good ratings. This special will preempt Old Christine and Gary Unmarried on this night and will lead into The 36th Annual People's Choice Awards from 9-11pm ET/PT.

Nick at Nite December 2009 Highlights; Obama Preempts Primetime Tomorrow at 8PM ET

This December on Nick at Nite will be a celebration of all holidays! There will be no regular schedule changes, but there will be a few stunts! Nick at Nite will air holiday-themed episodes from the networks' programming line-up featuring not only Christmas, but Kwanza and Hanukkah as well! Happy Holidays, indeed! You'll have three chances, too. The first chance starts tonight at 8pm through 12am ET/PT. Then the next chance will be on Saturday, December 12 from 10pm-2am ET/PT and finally on Monday, December 21 from 8pm-12am ET/PT. Catch holiday episodes of Glenn Martin DDS, Malcolm in the Middle, Everybody Hates Chris, George Lopez, and The Nanny! A new Glenn Martin episode premieres on Dec. 7 at 8pm titled "Obama Nation." Glenn experiences a crisis of confidence when Courtney writes an essay citing Millard Fillmore as the person she admires most (and not an essay about her father). After President Obama praises Glenn as a prototypical American, Glenn's status rises in his daughter's eyes, until he blows it by upstaging her big moment.
Finally, there will be some movies on Sundays. First up on Dec. 6, an encore of Mr. Troop Mom starring George Lopez will air from 9-11pm, followed by George Lopez at a special time of 11pm-12am. Then it is the Nick at Nite premiere of the big screen hit Men in Black II on Dec. 13 from 8-10pm. Four years after the alien-seeking agents Jay and Kay (Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith) averted an intergalactic disaster, Kay has returned to the comforts of civilian life while Jay has taken over his former partner's role as the most annoyingly efficient employee of the unofficial government agency that regulates all things alien on Earth. While investigating a seemingly routine alien-on-alien crime, Jay uncovers a diabolical plot masterminded by Serleena (Lara Flynn Boyle), an evil monster disguised as a sexy lingerie model, and her two-headed, half-witted accomplice, Scrad/Charlie (Johnny Knoxville). When Serleena takes the entire MIB building hostage, Jay can only turn to the retired Kay, whose expertise represents the universe's last best hope to avert ultimate destruction. And then on Dec. 20 from 8-10pm we have an encore of Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh, the hit Nickelodeon series.
One other note, the week of Dec. 14-17, George Lopez is scheduled to air 9-11pm on these four nights. Everybody Hates Chris will air at 8:30pm and The Nanny airs in the 1am hour as a result.

President Obama will once again preempt programming tomorrow (Tuesday, Dec. 1). He will address the Nation from the US Military Academy at West Point, New York at 8:00pm ET/5:00pm PT and all of the big four networks are on board.
Let's start with ABC. ABC News Special: Presidential Address To The Nation will air live on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PT and will last approximately one-hour and will be anchored by Charles Gibson. As a result of the Presidential Address, half-hour specials A Charlie Brown Christmas and the all-new Disney Prep & Landing will move to next Tuesday (Tuesday, December 8, 2009) in the 8:00 and 8:30 PM ET/PT half-hours. The season premiere of Scrubs and an all-new episode of the forgotten will remain from 9pm-11pm ET/PT on Dec. 1. So, the one-hour Charlie Brown Christmas/Christmas Tales will no longer be scheduled on Dec. 8 due to this change. Presidential Address airs live at 5pm PT and 6pm MT, followed by ABC World News, Local News and Local Programming. Primetime programming details for the Pacific and Mountain in the 8:00 PM PT/7:00 PM MT hour has not been announced yet. Stay with us for programming in that hour, but view the schedule for all time zones.
For CBS, they will also air the Presidential Address, but they will only have a half-hour coverage at 8pm ET/5pm PT anchored by Katie Couric. In the east/central, a repeat of NCIS will follow at 8:30/7:30 central, followed by a special repeat of Two and a Half Men at 9:30/8:30 central, and the previously scheduled all-new Victoria's Secret Fashion Show special at 10/9 central. Repeat of NCIS: LA originally scheduled will no longer air on this night. For the mountain time zone, the Presidential Address will air live at 6pm MT, followed by local programming, then the repeat of NCIS at 7pm MT at its normal time, followed by two special repeats of Two and a Half Men in the 8pm MT hour, and the previously scheduled all-new Victoria's Secret Fashion Show special at 9pm MT. And finally for the pacific time zone, the Presidential Address will air live at 5pm MT, followed by local news, CBS Evening News, and local programming, then the repeat of NCIS at 8pm PT at its normal time, followed by two special repeats of Two and a Half Men in the 9pm PT hour, and the previously scheduled all-new Victoria's Secret Fashion Show special at 10pm PT. Moving on to NBC, they will also air the Presidential Address and will have one-hour coverage anchored by Brian Williams. In the east/central time zones, immediately following the speech, The Biggest Loser will air at a special time of 9-11pm ET/8-10pm CT, as The Jay Leno Show is preempted for the first time. For the mountain time zone, the Presidential Address will air live at 6pm MT, followed by a repeat of Dateline at 7pm MT and finally followed by a two-hour The Biggest Loser at a special time of 8-10pm MT. Finally, for the pacific time zone, the Presidential Address will air live at 5pm MT, followed by local news, NBC Nightly News, and local programming, the a repeat of Dateline at 8pm PT and finally followed by a two-hour The Biggest Loser at a special time of 9-11pm PT. Finally for Fox, they will air the address for the first time since a while, as the last three times they decided not to air the addresses. Fox, like CBS, will air only 30-minutes of coverage of the address. The address is expected to run 30 minutes, but could go longer and for networks like ABC and NBC airing an hour's worth of coverage, they will fill the time with analysis of the address. In the east/central time zone, Fox will shift So You Think You Can Dance to 8:30pm-11pm ET/7:30pm-10pm CT. The episode will air in its entirety, but be ware it might not start until 9/8 central if the President goes long, that is why Fox is scheduling it for more than two-hours for the east/central. For the mountain time zone, the address will air live at 6pm MT, followed by local programming at 6:30pm MT, and So You Think You Can Dance at its normal time of 7-9pm MT. And finally for the pacific time zone, the address will air live at 5pm PT, followed by local programming through 8pm PT, and So You Think You Can Dance at its normal time of 8-10pm PT. Can you believe the holiday season is nearing? Thanksgiving is this week, which means Christmas is right around the corner! And then it will be 2010 a week after Christmas. Time flies! Anyway as I mentioned, I have put together our annual network television (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CW, MyNetwork TV) holiday specials list that we all like to watch every year like Frosty the Snowman and A Charlie Brown Christmas, new classics like Shrek the Halls and we even get some new specials this year like Disney Prep & Landing. Sure the network holiday line-ups are not as detailed as some cable networks like ABC Family, but the main holiday specials are still on network television! Effective this morning Nick at Nite has gained the full 6am hour! Previously the 6am half-hour was only programmed by Nick a Nite on weekdays. Now it will be the full 6am hour and every morning--even weekends! Two shows will fill this show. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays we get The Nanny from 6-7am and on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays Family Matters returns to the line-up and will air on those days 6-7am! Too bad it isn't every morning instead, since The Nanny already airs in other time periods.
Stay with us in the coming days or so for details on Nick at Nite December 2009. There won't be any more schedules changes, as of now that is, but you'll see some holiday episodes and the premiere of the movie Men in Black II.

MTV Acquires Grounded for Life; CW Vampire Week, CBS Sunday Timeslot Changes

MTV has quietly acquired the sitcom Grounded for Life. The sitcom started on the cable network yesterday (Nov. 16) and they are airing it weeknights at 7:00pm & 7:30pm and also next day encores in the mornings at 9:00am & 9:30am. The sitcom is about a thirty-something Irish Catholic couple (Sean and Claudia) that deal with their three children as well as Sean's judgmental father and his carefree brother. Donal Logue and Megyn Price star in this 2001-2005 sitcom that aired on Fox and later The WB. On cable, ABC Family has been airing the series on and off since fall 2005, and they will continue to air it weekdays at 4:00pm & 4:30pm even with MTV acquiring the series.
Grounded for Life joins repeats of South Park (from sister network Comedy Central), which recently started airing on MTV at 8:00pm & 8:30pm. MTV also airs TeenNick's Degrassi: The Next Generation weekdays at 10:00am & 10:30am. It seems MTV is going with more scripted stuff rather than music now? Grounded for Life is the first sitcom airing on MTV that is not borrowed from another Viacom-owned network. Scrubs aired this past summer, but that was borrowed from Comedy Central/TV Land. They have been airing movies, too, such as Addams Family, Not Another Teen Movie, Kill Bill Vol. 2, Halloween: Resurrection, Scream 3, Phone Booth, and airing soon will be movies such as Bad Santa, Addams Family Values, Men in Black II & Dawn of the Dead.

The CW Network has announced plans for a special Vampire Diaries Marathon starting on Monday, December 14. This week-long event offers fans the opportunity to relive The Vampire Diaries saga from the very beginning and allows the uninitiated the chance to get into one of TV's breakout hits.
Airing two episodes each night from Monday, Dec. 14 through Friday, Dec. 18 (8:00-10:00p.m. ET/PT) beginning with the season premiere episode, The CW will rebroadcast every episode to date of its smash hit The Vampire Diaries in consecutive order across its entire primetime schedule that week. After just 10 episodes, The Vampire Diaries has become The CW's most-watched and highest-rated series among adults 18-34 this season.
And finally, CBS has swapped the timeslots for Sunday dramas Three Rivers and Cold Case. Three Rivers moves from 9pm to 10pm, while Cold Case goes from 10pm to 9pm. Both will be moved to their new timeslots for this coming Sunday (Nov. 22). As of now, it is only for one week, but the following week (Nov. 29), CBS has a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie airing. If the timeslots improve, I'm sure CBS will keep these new timeslots for both series. Both series have had sluggish ratings this season, especially first year drama Three Rivers.

ABC Family Schedule Changes Has 8 Simple Rules, Return of Bynes Comedy, Less 'Fresh'; 36th Annual People's Choice Awards Nominees

ABC Family Channel is making some schedule changes effective next week. Starting Monday, Nov. 16, weekdays at 12 noon will now be back-to-back episodes of the Amanda Bynes sitcom What I Like About You, which returns back to the schedule, replacing Full House. Full House will still remain airing in its 3 & 3:30pm slots. Then starting next Wednesday (Nov. 18), 8 Simple Rules returns to weeknights airing weeknights at 6:00pm & 6:30pm replacing The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Fresh Prince will still air weekends (usually Saturday nights after midnight) in the late night on most weekends and it will also remain on sister network Disney XD. As for 8 Simple Rules, it came back to the schedule last month on weekends but due to holiday movies it will not be airing on weekends in November and December...but who cares now since it will air weeknights again in its old 6:00pm & 6:3pm slot! Excellent news for the John Ritter, Katey Sagal, and David Spade-led sitcom.
Last month Grounded for Life returned to weekdays (4pm hour)...now more shows return. All in all a good chedule change as nothing is totally leaving the line-up, while two shows return to weekdays.

Winners will be revealed during the live broadcast of The 36th Annual People's Choice Awards which will be hosted by Queen Latifah from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2009 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) on CBS. The first awards show of 2010, The 36th Annual People's Choice Awards honors fan favorites in television, movies and music.

TV One December 2009 Highlights; Accidentally on Purpose Gets More Episodes

This December on TV One, they have holiday stunts, special marathons, and more! We'll only cover the sitcom/TV series events, like usual. First up, on Saturday, December 12 beginning at 12 Noon through 8pm, TV One keeps with the Holiday Season Spirit as they air a Holiday Sitcom Marathon consisting of Christmas-themed episodes of favorite TV One comedies Good Times, The Jeffersons, The Hughleys, Amen, and Sanford & Son.
Beginning on Monday, December 14, TV One presents a Lincoln Heights - "Best Of Season 2" week-long event. The series is an original ABC Family series, but TV One is once again airing some repeats. The Sutton family is back for another stunt week on TV One...which starts out with a race riot at the high school that spills out into streets where violence catches up to Eddie, who shoots a boy who he thought shot at him. Join the Sutton Family as they must deal with life on the hard edge confronting such issues as racial violence, gangs, family issues, and an unexpected tragic event. Episodes in this special stunt week air Monday-Friday the week of Dec. 13 only at 9pm and 10pm with encore airings at 1am & 2am.
On Saturday, December 19 beginning at 2pm through 12am (encores until 6am), TV One keeps with the Holiday Season Spirit as they air another Holiday Sitcom Marathon consisting of Christmas-themed episodes of favorite TV One comedies Martin, All of Us, Eve, The PJs, For Your Love, Where I Live, Cedric the Entertainer Presents, Half & Half, and Living Single.
Then beginning on Monday, December 21 and continuing through Christmas Eve (Thursday, December 24), TV One presents a Christmas Comedy Countdown from 7pm to 11pm each night showcasing Yuletide episodes of your favorite TV One sitcoms leading up to Christmas. The Holiday countdown begins each night with Christmas episodes of Martin at 7pm followed by Good Times at 7:30pm. The 8pm to 11pm Christmas Comedies are in blocks. On Monday we get Martin & Living Single, on Tuesday we get Good Times & Amen, on Wednesday it is The Jeffersons & Cedric The Entertainer Presents and on Thursday we get All of Us & Eve on Christmas Eve.
And finally on Friday, January 1 (New Years Day) beginning at 9am through 8pm (encores until 6am), ring in your New Year in 2010 with Martin Payne as TV One presents the "Martin: It's All Love - New Years Day Marathon." Join Martin along with Gina, Tommy, Pam, and Cole as love is the theme of the day with the thin line between love and hate growing ever so closer in the world of Martin.

CBS has ordered an additional five episodes of its freshman comedy Accidentally on Purpose, bringing its season order to 18. Accidentally on Purpose is averaging 8.04 million viewers, 3.1/7 rating/share in adults 18-49 and 3.7/8 rating/share in adults 25-54 in its Monday (8:30PM) time period, according to Nielsen most current ratings (not counting the repeat on Oct. 26).
This Monday's episode did a decent 8.09 million, 3.1/8 rating/share in adults 18-49, and a 3.7/8 rating/share in adults 25-54, right on par with its season average. However, it was slightly off from its previous all-new episode on Oct. 19 of 8.26 million, 3.3/8 rating/share in adults 18-49, and a 3.7/9 rating/share in adults 25-54.
