Born: 1915-08-23. Died: 2006-07-22. Birth Place: Samson, Alabama.

Maloy, the son of a farmer, grew up in his birthplace. After graduating from Auburn University he worked for a time with Caterpillar Tractor before moving to Vultee Aircraft in Downey, California before World War II, eventually working in missile flight test. After the war he moved with the missile activity to San Diego, but then decided to stay there instead of moving to the new Terrier missile facility in Pomona in 1952. He worked on aircraft flight test, before being assigned to work at Cape Canaveral and Edwards as Convair base manager for the Atlas program. He later returned to San Diego, where he headed the Atlas Test Labs and the Analysis group for the Atlas programs, then was Manager of Launch Operations, and finally an Engineering Staff Specialist before retirement in 1981.
