Yi Soyeon


Korean engineer cosmonaut 2006-2008. First Korean in space.

Status: Inactive; Active 2006-2008. Born: 1978-06-02. Spaceflights: 1 . Total time in space: 10.88 days. Birth Place: Gwangju.

Researcher at the KAIST; one of two finalists from South Korea for a Soyuz mission in April 2008; hobbies: picture, song and Taekwondo. Named as backup for Soyuz TMA-12 on 5 September 2007, but replaced by original prime crew Ko San on 10 March 2008, less than a month before the flight, after he allegedly removed training materials to Korea.
