In the <1933> pre-season he played for the first quarter of a practice match before leaving to attend his own wedding. He played in the first game of the year but was cleared to St Kilda midway through <1933>. He played three games for them in <1934> before joining Brunswick in the and topping that league's goalkicking with 84 goals in <1937>. He remained at Brunswick through <1939>.
