I'm surprised Mercurial doesn't complain about it when cloning. Still needs fixing of course. It would be good to have an actual error message here, I think.

I would be surprised if such an issue was overlooked for a long time. I would think that this would bite everyone trying to check out the repository on Windows, wouldn't it?
