I will probably get an external monitor eventually but I agree 15 inch is ok - but backed by one or more large monitors is obviously better. I don't think a 17 in is an option anymore.

I've been doing serious development for seven years now on macbooks, all 15" ;-) All my previous laptops weren't larger than 15", anyway.
