I'm hoping that there will be a 15 inch antiglare 15" retina screen released in the fall but, I am not holding my breath. I would sure like to have 17 inches of retina!

Hi Kustaa and Kirk,
I was thinking 16GB and Laptop/SSD but they are pretty pricey so I wanted to ask. Eric

Hi All,
I have been following this list for a long time so figure this is a great place to ask. I'm trying to get a new computer for Java/Scala development to replace an old iMac. I would like to get a laptop but they are a bit pricey so I'd consider and iMac or Mini. Two questions to help narrow my selection. 1. Is 8GB memory ok or do you recommend 16? 2. Is an SSD drive like on the Macbook Pro a big advantage for compilation over an iMac or Mini? My concern would be that the new mac book, only give 15" screen which I think is rather too small for serious devlopment, and its a glossy reflective screen. So Im thinking about upgrading my existing 2009 Macbook Pro 17" which is still working reliably enough as a second machine, albeit a bit slower than I would like Paul
