Probable Supernova 2008iz in M82 (original) (raw)
Possible Supernova 2008iz was detected in M82 on April 8, 2009 in observations made on March 24, 2008 in the radio light at 22 GHz with the Very Large Array (VLA) by Brunthaler et.al(Brunthaler et.al 2009). It had been measured again on May 3, 2008, but not found in the visible light. Initially to June 2009, it had not been sure if this object was actually a supernova or another type of transient radio object, more evidence has been made later for its supernova nature: It is now calssified as a radio supernova of type II. * SN 2008iz discovery announce (CBET 1803) * SN 2008iz Resources, by David Bishop * NED data for SN 2008iz * SIMBAD data for SN 2008iz * Publications on SN 2008iz (NASA ADS) * Messier Galaxies and their Supernovae and Supernovae in Messier Catalog Galaxies pages * Supernova 2004am in M82 * Possible Supernova 2009 in M82 * Supernova 2014J in M82 References * Andreas Brunthaler, K.M.
