Orbiter SN1 [Launcher]

The Orbiter, developed by Launcher, is a free flying satellite deployer.

Orbiter has a payload capacity of up to 400 kg and integrates with every CubeSat and small satellite separation system. With a propulsive capability of 500 m/s delta-V, Orbiter expands the capability of major rideshare missions and more accurately places your spacecraft in its exact orbit. The propulsion system is fueled by ethane and nitrous oxide.

Orbiter SN1, carrying (Skyline Celestial), MDQSAT 1A,1 B, PROVES-Yearling, Sapling 1 (Sapling Sempervirens), Unicorn 2G, 2H
, was launched in January 2023. Although initial contact was established, the solar arrays failed to provide power. Due to the power failure, the satellites on board were not deployed.

Orbiter SN3, carrying Otter Pup, MDQSAT 1C and 1D andPleiades-Squared, was launched in June but quickly fell into an uncontrollable rotation following separation from its launch vehicle due to a software issue. Telemetry indicated the vehicle's onboard attitude control system had sent the spacecraft into a rapid spin after deployment. Communications contact with Orbiter SN3, was established but the craft's rotation prevented its solar panels from receiving the necessary sunlight to maintain power. As a contingency measure, the satellites were deployed early, but successfuly. But Orbiter SN3 can not fulfill its purpose as a docking target for Otter Pup.

After Launcher was acquired by VAST, the Orbiter program was cancelled.
