Admiral Horatio Nelson, 1st and last Viscount Nelson of the Nile and Burnham Thorpe was born on 29 September 1758 at Parsonage House, Burnham Thorpe, Norfolk, EnglandG.4 He was the son of Reverend Edmund Nelson and Catherine Suckling. He married Frances Herbert Woolward, daughter of William Woolward, on 22 March 1787 at Montpelier, St. NevisG.5 He died on 21 October 1805 at age 47, without legitimate issue, killed in action.4 He was buried on 9 January 1806 at St. Paul's, London, England.4
At Norwich High School, Norwich, Norfolk, England, (an unknown value.)4 He was commissioned in 1770, in the service of the Royal Navy.4 He gained the rank of Colonel of Marines between 1795 and 1797.4 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1797.4 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1797.4 He fought in the Battle of the Nile in 1798.4 He and Emma Lyon were associated.1 He was awarded the Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Ferdinand and Merit of Naples in 1801.4 He fought in the Battle of Copenhagen in 1801.4 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in 1801.4 He was created 1° Duca di Bronté [Kingdom of the Two Sicilies] on 9 January 1801, by Ferdinand IV of Naples and Sicily.4 He was created 1st Viscount Nelson of the Nile and of Burnham Thorpe [U.K.] on 22 May 1801, with a special remainder, failing heirs male of his own body lawfully begotten, and failing them to the heirs male of the bodies of (a) his sister Mrs Bolton and (b) his other sister Mrs Matcham.4 He was created 1st Baron Nelson of the Nile and of Hilborough, co. Norfolk [U.K.] on 18 August 1801.4 He was awarded the Grand Commander, Order of St. Joachim of Leiningen in 1802.4 He was awarded the Knight, Crescent of Ottoman Empire in 1802.4 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1802.4 He fought in the Battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805.4

Elizabeth Hamilton was born circa 1721.3 She was the daughter of Captain Hon. Archibald Hamilton and Lady Jane Hamilton.1 She married, firstly, Francis Greville, 1st Earl of Warwick, son of William Greville, 7th Baron Brooke of Beauchamps Court and Mary Thynne, on 15 May 1742 at Park Place, Remingham, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 She married, secondly, General Robert Clerk after 1742.1 She died on 24 February 1800 at Dover Street, London, EnglandG.3 She was buried on 6 March 1800 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.3 Her will was proven (by probate) on 6 March 1800.3
After her marriage, Elizabeth Hamilton was styled as Baroness Brooke of Beauchamps Court on 15 May 1742. From 15 May 1742, her married name became Greville. After her marriage, Elizabeth Hamilton was styled as Countess Brooke of Warwick Castle on 7 July 1746. After her marriage, Elizabeth Hamilton was styled as Countess of Warwick on 13 November 1759. Her last will was dated 6 February 1800.
On 20 August 1765 Lady Dalkeith wrote "Lord, Lord! what stange creatures there are among us women. Lady Warwick has come to England, was refused admittance at her Lord's House in Hill Street, and has taken lodgings in Kensington."3

Francis Greville, 1st Earl of Warwick was born on 10 October 1719.3 He was the son of William Greville, 7th Baron Brooke of Beauchamps Court and Mary Thynne.3 He married Elizabeth Hamilton, daughter of Captain Hon. Archibald Hamilton and Lady Jane Hamilton, on 15 May 1742 at Park Place, Remingham, Berkshire, EnglandG.4 He died on 6 July 1773 at age 53 at Warwick Castle, Warwickshire, EnglandG.4 His will (dated 23 May 1770 to 2 September 1771) was proven (by probate) on 23 July 1773.4,5
He succeeded as the 8th Baron Brooke of Beauchamps Court, co. Sir Charles Schaw Cathcart, 9th Lord Cathcart, son of Maj.-Gen. Charles Cathcart, 8th Lord Cathcart and Marion Shaw, on 24 July 1753 at Greenwich Hospital, Greenwich, London, EnglandG.1,3 She died on 13 November 1771 at age 45 at St. Petersburg, RussiaG, from consumption.3,4 She was buried at Audley Street Chapel, St. George Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.3
From 24 July 1753, her married name became Cathcart.

Lt.-Gen. Sir Charles Schaw Cathcart, 9th Lord Cathcart was born on 21 March 1721 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.3,4 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Charles Cathcart, 8th Lord Cathcart and Marion Shaw.5 He married Jane Hamilton, daughter of Captain Hon. Archibald Hamilton and Lady Jane Hamilton, on 24 July 1753 at Greenwich Hospital, Greenwich, London, EnglandG.1,6 He died on 14 August 1776 at age 55 at Grosvenor Place, London, EnglandG, from consumption.6,7 His will was proven (by probate) in August 1776.6
