Alexander Sutherland1

Alexander Sutherland was born in 1498.1 He was the son of John Sutherland, 8th Earl of Sutherland and Margaret Calder.1 He married unknown daughter Mackay, daughter of Iye Roy Mackay of Dunbeath.1 He died circa 1520, killed in a skirmish.1
He initially disputed the right to the Earldom with his half-brother, claiming an entail existied by which the title passed to him.1 In July 1509 he waived his claim to the Eearldom.1

Penelope Stonhouse was the daughter of Sir John Stonhouse, 3rd Bt. and Penelope Dashwood.1 She married, firstly, Sir Henry Atkins, 4th Bt., son of Sir Henry Atkins, 3rd Bt. and Rebecca Maria Dixie, on 31 October 1723 at St. Andrew's Church, Holborn, London, EnglandG.1 She married, secondly, John Leveson-Gower, 1st Earl Gower, son of John Leveson-Gower, 1st Baron Gower of Stittenham and Lady Catherine Manners, on 31 October 1733 at St. George's Church, Queen's Square, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 19 August 1734 at Trentham, Staffordshire, EnglandG.2 She was buried at Trentham, Staffordshire, EnglandG.2
From 31 October 1723, her married name became Atkins. From 31 October 1733, her married name became Leveson-Gower. After her marriage, Penelope Stonhouse was styled as Baroness Gower of Stittenham on 31 October 1733.

Lady Mary Tufton was born on 6 July 1701. She was the daughter of Thomas Tufton, 6th Earl of Thanet and Lady Catherine Cavendish.1 She married, firstly, Anthony Grey, 3rd Baron Lucas of Crudwell, son of Henry Grey, 1st and last Duke of Kent and Hon. Jemima Crew, on 17 February 1718.1 She married, secondly, John Leveson-Gower, 1st Earl Gower, son of John Leveson-Gower, 1st Baron Gower of Stittenham and Lady Catherine Manners, on 16 May 1736.1 She died on 19 February 1785 at age 83.1
From 17 February 1718, her married name became Grey. From 16 May 1736, her married name became Leveson-Gower. After her marriage, Lady Mary Tufton was styled as Baroness Gower of Stittenham on 16 May 1736. After her marriage, Lady Mary Tufton was styled as Countess Gower on 8 July 1746.

Sir John Rupert Colville was born on 28 January 1915.2 He was the son of Hon. George Charles Colville and Lady Helen Cynthia Crewe-Milnes.3 He married Lady Margaret Egerton, daughter of John Francis Granville Scrope Egerton, 4th Earl of Ellesmere and Lady Violet Lambton, on 20 October 1948.2 He died on 19 November 1987 at age 72.2,4
