Rt. Hon. Robert Dundas of Arniston was born on 6 June 1753.2 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Robert Dundas of Arniston and Jean Grant.2,3 He married Hon. Elizabeth Dundas, daughter of Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville of Melville and Elizabeth Rannie, in May 1797.2 He died on 17 June 1819 at age 66.2
He held the office of Solicitor-General [Scotland] in 1784.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Edinburgh.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1 He held the office of Lord Chief Baron of the Court of the Exchequer [Scotland].2

John Borthwick, 14th of Crookston was born in September 1824.1 He was the son of John Borthwick, 13th of Crookston and Anne Dundas.1 He married Elizabeth Mason Pringle, daughter of Vice-Admiral James Pringle, 10th of Torwoodlee, in 1853.1 He died on 11 February 1907 at age 82, without issue.1
He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Berwick.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Edinburgh.1

William Henry Borthwick, 15th of Crookston was born on 28 November 1832.1 He was the son of John Borthwick, 13th of Crookston and Anne Dundas.1 He married Rebecca Cathcart, daughter of Robert Cathcart, on 31 December 1864.1 He died on 8 October 1928 at age 95.1
He succeeded as the 21st Lord Borthwick [S., 1452] on 4 October 1910, de jure.1
