Sir Alfred Hickman, 1st Bt. was born on 3 July 1830.2 He was the son of George Rushbury Hickman and Mary Haden.3 He married Lucy Owen Smith, daughter of William Smith, on 10 June 1850.2 He died on 11 March 1910 at age 79.3
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for West Wolverhampton between 1885 and 1886.2 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1891.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for West Wolverhampton between 1892 and 1906.4 He was chairman of Alfred Hickman.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)2 He was created 1st Baronet Hickman, of Wightwick, Tettenhall, co. Staffs [U.K.] on 25 August 1903.2
