Colonel James Doddington Carmichael1

Colonel James Doddington Carmichael was born on 14 August 1820.1 He was the son of David Scott Carmichael Smyth and Anne Sherwood.2 He married Barré Georgina Latter, daughter of Major Barré Richard William Latter and Juliana Anne Jeffreys, in 1859.1 He married Teresa Anne Morris, daughter of Thomas Morris, in 1869.1 He died on 13 May 1893 at age 72.1
He was given the name of James Doddington Carmichael Smyth at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 His name was legally changed to James Doddington Carmichael by Royal Licence.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 32nd Regiment.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1

Barré Georgina Latter1

Barré Georgina Latter was born on 11 September 1822 at Bengal, India.2 She was the daughter of Major Barré Richard William Latter and Juliana Anne Jeffreys.3,2 She married, firstly, William Christian Watson, son of Thomas Coldough Watson and Sarah James.2 She married, secondly, Colonel James Doddington Carmichael, son of David Scott Carmichael Smyth and Anne Sherwood, in 1859.1
Her married name became Watson.2 From 1859, her married name became Carmichael.1

Claude Dundas James Carmichael1

Claude Dundas James Carmichael was born on 21 October 1862.2 He was the son of Colonel James Doddington Carmichael and Barré Georgina Latter.2 He married Mary Glencairn Shaw, daughter of James Shaw, on 5 July 1888.2 He died on 8 September 1915 at age 52.2
He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Duke of Cornwall Light Infantry.2 He was an officer with the Madras Police Force.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.)2 He unsuccessfully claimed the dormant titles of the Eral of Hyndford.2 He held the position of 27th Chief of the Name and Arms of Carmichael from on 31 May 1902.1
