George Sinclair, 5th Earl of Caithness1

George Sinclair, 5th Earl of Caithness was born in 1566.1 He was the son of John Sinclair, Master of Caithness and Lady Jean Hepburn.2 He married Lady Jean Gordon, daughter of George Gordon, 5th Earl of Huntly and Lady Anne Hamilton, circa 29 July 1585.1 He died in February 1642/43 at Caithness, ScotlandG.3
He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Caithness [S., 1455] on 9 September 1582.1 On 3 April 1592 he resigned the Earldom but was regranted it with remainder to his eldest son William and the latter’s heirs male and assigns whatsoever.1 On 18 June 1606 he had charter of the various lands forming the Barony of Borriedale.4 In 1614 he suppressed the rebellion in Orkney which had resulted in the death of the 5th Earl of Orkney.4

Lt.-Gen. Sir James Lindsay was born on 17 April 1793 at Balcarres, Kilconquhar, Fife, Scotland.2,3 He was the son of Hon. Robert Lindsay and Elizabeth Dick.1,2 He married, firstly, Mary Ann Grant, daughter of Francis Grant and Anne Oliphant, on 16 February 1819 at Kilconquhar, Fife, Scotland.2,3 He married, secondly, Anne Trotter, daughter of Sir Coutts Trotter, 1st Bt. and Margaret Gordon, on 2 April 1823.2 He died on 5 December 1855 at age 62.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wigan between 1825 and 1831.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Fifeshire between 1831 and 1832.2 He lived at Balcarres, Fife, ScotlandG.4

Sir Coutts Trotter, 1st Bt.1

Sir Coutts Trotter, 1st Bt. was the son of unknown Trotter.2 He married Margaret Gordon, daughter of Hon. Alexander Gordon, Lord Rockville and Anne Duff, on 12 July 1802 at Hendon, London, EnglandG.3 He died on 1 September 1837.2
He was created 1st Baronet Trotter, of Westville, Lincolnshire [U.K.] on 4 September 1821, with a special remainder to the male issue of his daughter, Anne.2

Philip Yorke Gore, 4th Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands was born on 23 November 1801 at Dublin Castle, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He was the son of Colonel Hon.
