James Clifton of Mar, 30th Earl of Mar1

James Clifton of Mar, 30th Earl of Mar was born on 22 November 1914.1 He was the son of Charles Macdonald Lane and Jessie Helen Grant.1 He married, firstly, Millicent Mary Salton, daughter of William Salton, on 1 March 1939.1 He and Millicent Mary Salton were divorced in 1958. He married, secondly, Marjorie Aileen Miller, daughter of John Reginald Miller, in 1960.1 He died on 21 April 1975 at age 60.1
He was given the name of James Clifton Lane at birth.1 He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 In 1959 his name was legally changed to James Clifton of Mar recognised by the Lord Lyon.1 He succeeded as the 30th Earl of Mar [S., c. 1115] on 27 November 1965.1

Camilla Younger is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Charles Frank Johnston Younger and Joanna Chatfield.3,4 She married, firstly, Richard Eustace Parker Bowles, son of Derek Henry Parker Bowles and Ann de Trafford, in 1973.1 She and Richard Eustace Parker Bowles were divorced in 1976.5 She married, secondly, Charles Edward Peter Neil Wood, 3rd Earl of Halifax, son of Charles Ingram Courtenay Wood, 2nd Earl of Halifax and Ruth Alice Hannah Mary Primrose, on 17 November 1976.1
From 1973, her married name became Parker Bowles. From 17 November 1976, her married name became Wood. After her marriage, Camilla Younger was styled as Countess of Halifax on 19 March 1980.

Cynthia Theresa Mary Howard was the daughter of Lt.-Col. William James Holdsworth Howard. She married, firstly, Sir Anthony Robin Maurice Hooper, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Frederic Collins Hooper, 1st Bt. and Eglantine Irene Bland, in 1970.1 She and Sir Anthony Robin Maurice Hooper, 2nd Bt. were divorced in 1973.1 She married, secondly, Murray de Vere Beauclerk, 14th Duke of Saint Albans, son of Charles Frederic Aubrey de Vere Beauclerk, 13th Duke of Saint Albans and Nathalie Chatham Walker, on 29 August 1974.3 She and Murray de Vere Beauclerk, 14th Duke of Saint Albans were divorced in 2001.1 She died on 12 May 2002.1
From 1970, her married name became Hooper.1 From 29 August 1974, her married name became Beauclerk. After her marriage, Cynthia Theresa Mary Howard was styled as Duchess of Saint Albans on 8 October 1988.

John Francis Miller Erskine, 26th/9th Earl of Mar was born on 28 December 1795.1 He was the son of John Thomas Erskine, 25th/8th Earl of Mar and Janet Miller.1 He married Philadelphia Stuart Stuart-Menteth, daughter of Sir Charles Granville Stuart-Menteth of Closeburn, 1st Bt. and Ludivina Loughnan, on 24 April 1827.1 He died on 19 June 1866 at age 70, without issue.1
He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Waterloo Campaign in 1815.1 He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Mar [S., 1565] on 20 September 1828.1 He succeeded as the 26th Earl of Mar [S., c. 1115] on 20 September 1828.1 He succeeded as the 11th Baron Erskine of Dirletowne [S., 1604] on 3 December 1829.2 He succeeded as the 11th Viscount of Fentoun [S., 1619] on 3 December 1829.2 He succeeded as the 11th Earl of Kellie [S., 1619] on 3 December 1829, after he established his right to this title on 3 September 1835.2 He succeeded as the 11th Lord Dirletoun [S., 1619] on 3 December 1829.2 He succeeded as the 11th Viscount of Fentoun [S., 1606] on 3 December 1829.2
