Lt.-Col. Stuart Low1

Lt.-Col. Stuart Low was born on 1 December 1888.1 He was the son of Sir Austin Low and Mary Stephanie Jay.1 He married Hon. Lucy Gwen Atkin, daughter of James Richard Atkin, Baron Atkin and Lucy Elizabeth Hemmant, on 19 July 1913.1 He married, secondly, Phyllis Lacey Falk after 1930.1 He and Hon. Lucy Gwen Atkin were divorced before 1935.2 He died on 10 December 1942 at age 54, as a result of enemy action at sea.1
He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Garrison Artillery (Territorial Army.)1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)3 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He was Chairman of Grindlays Bank.1

Hon. Lucy Gwen Atkin1

Hon. Lucy Gwen Atkin was the daughter of James Richard Atkin, Baron Atkin and Lucy Elizabeth Hemmant.1 She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. Stuart Low, son of Sir Austin Low and Mary Stephanie Jay, on 19 July 1913.1 She and Lt.-Col. Stuart Low were divorced before 1935.2 She married, secondly, Major George Edward Shelley, son of George Ernest Shelley and Janet Andrewes, on 6 July 1935.2 She and Major George Edward Shelley were divorced in 1941.3 She died on 22 August 1957.1
From 19 July 1913, her married name became Low.1 From 6 July 1935, her married name became Shelley.2

Charles Stuart Low was born on 2 February 1916.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Stuart Low and Hon. Lucy Gwen Atkin.1 He married Rosemarie Heidecker, daughter of Hugo Heidecker, on 6 October 1953.1 He and Rosemarie Heidecker were divorced in 1963.1 He died in July 1986 at age 70.1
He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1937 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Grays Inn in 1961 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1
