Reverend Orfeur William Kilvington1

Reverend Orfeur William Kilvington was born on 16 November 1780 at Dulwich, Surrey, England.2 He was the son of John Kilvington.2 He married Hon. Maria Margaret Napier, daughter of Francis Napier, 8th Lord Napier of Merchistoun and Maria Margaret Clavering, on 29 August 1816.1 He died on 17 October 1854 at age 73 at Hatfield, Doncaster, Yorkshire, England.2
He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1805 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He was Curate in 1807 at Norton Cuckney, Nottinghamshire, England.2 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1808 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Vicar between 1816 and 1854 at Brignall, Yorkshire, England.1

Francis Napier, 10th Lord Napier of Merchistoun was born on 15 September 1819.1 He is the son of Captain William John Napier, 9th Lord Napier of Merchistoun and Eliza Cochrane-Johnstone.2 He married Anne Jane Charlotte Lockwood, daughter of Robert Manners Lockwood and Hon. Julia Gore, on 2 September 1845.1 He died on 19 December 1898 at age 79.1
He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Scott, of Thirlestane [N.S., 1666] on 11 October 1834.2 He succeeded as the 10th Lord Napier of Merchistoun [S., 1627] on 11 October 1834.1 He held the office of Envoy Extraordinrary and Minister Plenipotentiary to U.S.A. between 1857 and 1859.1 He held the office of Envoy Extraordinrary and Minister Plenipotentiary to the Netherlands between 1859 and 1861.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1861.1 He held the office of Ambassador to Russia between 1861 and 1864.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Thistle (K.T.) in 1864.1 He held the office of Ambassador to Prussia between 1864 and 1866.1 He held the office of Governor of Madras between 1866 and 1872.1 He was Acting Viceroy of India in 1872.1 He was created 1st Baron Ettrick of Ettrick, co.
