CONVOY HX 285 Departed New York on March 28-1944 and arrived Liverpool on Apr. 12.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 54 ships in this convoy.

Commodore, Captain E. C. Denison, R.N. was in Port Darwin.

The Rescue Vessel Melrose Abbey was on her 13th voyage as such, having started this voayge from Clyde on March 1-1944 with the westbound Convoy ON 226, to Halifax March 13, returning to Clyde with HX 285, March 30-Apr. 11 ("Convoy Rescue Ships 1940-1945", Arnold Hague).
