CONVOY SC 165 Departed Halifax on Jan. 16-1945 and arrived Liverpool on the 31st.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 32 ships in this convoy.

Notes:
The Rescue Vessel St. Clair was on her 4th voyage as such, having started this voyage from Clyde on Dec. 24-1944 with the westbound Convoy ON 274, to Halifax Jan. 6-1945, then returned to Clyde with Convoy SC 165, Jan. 16-Jan. 31-1945. Her previous voyage had been with ON 263 / HX 321. ("Convoy Rescue Ships 1940-1945", Arnold Hague).

British Freedom, on a voyage from New York and Boston for Halfiax and U.K. with 9723 tons of fuel oil, was torpedoed and sunk by U-1232 on Jan. 14-1945, when en route (with Convoy BX 141) to join Concoy SC 165. She had a crew of 48 and 9 gunners - 1 crew died.
Athelviking, on a voyage from Port Everglades and Boston for Halifax and U.K. with 11630 tons of molasses and some assault craft, was also torpedoed and sunk by U-1232 that day. She had a crew of 43 and 8 gunners - the captain and 3 crew died.
