Ximn Municipal Library (Ximn Tshgun ͼݣ
Address: #2 Gngyun Nn L ·)
Website: <www.xt.xm.fj.cn/index%5Fen.asp>
E -mail: tsg9808@public.xm.fj.cn
Ximn Municipal Library was founded in 1919 and the present building was opened Dec., 1991 The buildings cover 8700m2 and house nearly 800,000 volumes, with over 3,000 kinds of periodicals and over 30,000 volumes, including electronic publications, added annually.

It has over 10 reading rooms with over 500 reading seats, including a periodicals reading room, an electronic reading room, a room for individual study, a comprehensive reading room (including local materials reference area, reference books reading area, Hong Kong, Tiwn & foreign languages materials reading area, etc.), an ancient books reading room, a Chinese Newspapers reference room, etc. The library also has a multi-functional exhibition hall, a multi-functional lecture hall, rooms for cultural exhibitions, art exhibits, academic exchanges, movie shows, etc.

Buses: 3, 4 , 8, 12, 18, 19, 21, 27, 32, 35, 51, 67, 86, 87
Glngys Zhngshn Branch Library This 1600m2 has over 60,000 volumes and 1,000 periodicals. Take the ferry to Glngy, go straight ahead on Lngtu L; turn left on Zhnghu L.
Ximn University Library Ŵѧͼ I used to be so frustrated with the librarys short hours that I went half a decade without darkening its doors, and started my own library at home. But now the XMU library is open 7 days a week from 8 AM to 10 PM, and they have 3,750,000 booksabout 3,745,000 more than I have at home. And Ill never catch up because theyre spending 1 million Yuan each year adding 50,000 volumes annually (if I bought that many books my wife would kill me).
The library was founded in 1921 and moved to the present site in 1987. The building was expanded to 22,000m2 in 2001 and 2002 and now has half a million foreign language books, over 10,000 periodicals in Chinese and over 12,000 in foreign languages.
The digital library system was started in 2000 and offers 24 hour inter-library loans, database mirror-site services, over 100 major online databases, digital archives and libraries, over 18,000 electronic periodicals in Chinese and foreign languages, and searches.
