Zapfendorf Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Gules two cloakpins Or issuant in saltire, beneath Or a demi-lion issuant Sable, armed and tongued Gules, superimposed by a bendlet Argent.
Meaning:
The colours red and yellow had been those of the Counts of Truhendingen, who sold the village to the Bishop of Bamberg, represented by the lower half, in 1390. The cloakpins from the Bronze Age were found during local excavations.
