Unterallgäu County Coat of Arms
Shiel chapé embowed, in base lozengy of Argent and Azure, above right Sable a rosette Or, above left Or a fleur-de-lis Azure.
Meaning:
The dexter half shows the rosette of the arms of the Benedictine Ottobeuren Imperial Abbey, which ruled the southern part of the county for many years. The fleur-de-lis is taken from the arms of the Fugger family, which ruled several estates in the county. In the 17th century the Dukes of Bayern from the Wittelsbach dynasty acquired several estates, and the whole area became part of Bayern in 1814. This is symbolised by the in the base of the shield.
This is a rare case, in which the arms are not derived from those of former, constituent counties; compare with the arms of Memmingen County and Mindelheim County.

Mindelheim County Coat of Arms
Shield Or a double triplemount Sable, chief lozengy of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
The lower part of the arms is derived from the arms of the Frundsberg kin. In 1467 the family acquired the Lordship of Mindelheim and ruled the area until 1617, when it became part of Bayern. The lozenges in the chief are the arms of Bayern.
