Overview
The parish of Cojimíes, located in Pedernales canton (Manabí province), was established by Agreement No. 621 of 14 December 1911; its official inauguration was postponed until 28 March 1912 because of the Guayaquil Revolution.

The Flag
The flag of Cojimíes is horizontally divided blue-red-green with a yellow sun skewed to the hoist. Blue represents the ocean, the estuary, and the rivers that water the parish territory, as well as the sky. Red represents life generated by the air and the sea. Green represents the permanent fertility of the soil.
