Introduction

"The Crimson Permanent Assurance" is a short film (16 mn) used as the first chapter (indeed a pre-movie short film of its own) of "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life", the last of the Monty Python films (1983, directed by Terry Gilliam)

I eventually found "The Crimson Permanent Assurance" on YouTube. The pirates hoist a flag over their vessel; the flag is shown two times (here is a screen capture of the flag ), first when they leave London and then when they leave a place looking like New York.
