Introduction

The Japanese series SDF Macross (Choujikuu Yousai Macross) and related sequels have a plot that involves a war between the UN and invading Zentraedi aliens that goes on until both sides are decimated and Earth is flattened.

Flags on this page appear in a sequel series, Macross Plus. In episode 3, there is a memorial ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of the end of the war, during which they can be seen being hoisted.

The new Earth government jointly established after the Earth/Zentraedi armistice. Dark blue field, white fading line 3/5 of the way up. Device includes two crossing, diagonal dark blue/white-bordered rings, over which is superimposed UN logo nestled amid blue-and-white wheat sheaves(?) below this are 23 small white stars in two slightly curved rows of 13 and 10 (I am unaware of the meaning of this). Below that is the inscription UNITED NATIONS GOVERNMENT in gold.
